My daughter and I stayed at the Hampton Inn during our visit to the University of RI. The room was clean and spacious. The hotel staff was very nice. The hotel is located behind a new "mall" complex. There are places to eat, a couple of stores and a movie theatre within walking distant. It will definitely be our place to stay when she attends URI.

This Hampton Inn is about 12 minutes to the Ryan Center at URI. It is located in a "Main Street" type planned community. it is literally across a parking lot from a multiplex theater, ice cream store, multiple restaurants and other shopping opportunities. It is all very nice, new and well lit. The hotel is far enough away from the action that noise was not an issue.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by two very friendly clerks (both females whose names we did not catch). We were quickly checked in and, upon request, were provided restaurant suggestions. (Arturo Joe's nearby had excellent Italian food - with gluten free options, too.)
Our two queen bed room was spotless upon arrival. This property was only two years old at the time of our visit, and it looked brand new. The public areas were very clean -- including the main bathrooms off the lobby. The pool area was larger than we expected and was also well maintained. Beds were comfortable, if not a bit firm for our taste. Pillows were fluffy. Linens were good quality. the shower featured a water-pik massage head, curved rod and granite counters -- and was all around clean and attractive. Free wireless internet worked fine on our ITouch.
I took away one "star" in the overall rating only because the room is very small. We are a family of four (kids 8 and 11) - and, while the room was fine for our one night stay, this is definitely a smallish room.
Finally, the breakfast area was more attractive than most at this hotel level. The hot food choices were okay -- including a cheese egg "thing" -- and make-your-own waffles. The cold options were plentiful: cereals, fruit, yogurt, etc. No one left hungry. Coffee, juices and milk is unlimited, too, of course. The two women caring for the food area were outstanding. They were constantly cleaning and re-supplying the self-serve areas. We also had a major spill, which they cleaned up with a cheerful smile and "no problem" repeatedly uttered
"No problem" summed up our stay. We would definitely return here for a short stay in the future.

We stayed here for a family wedding in August 2008. We had initially booked into a more expensive hotel near the beach, but my sister-in-law found the Hampton Inn at half the price. The hotel was new when we stayed there so everything was clean and efficient. The continental breakfast had a large selection. The hotel is about 15 minutes from the beach. It is located near a small mall of shops which came in handy for hair styling and coffee shops.

The price and service made this a great choice. If it had been nearer the beach, even better, but then we probably couldn't have afforded it.

I just returned from a 3 night stay at the Hampton Inn in South Kingstown. The hotel is located in South County Commons, just off Rte. 1. My room was very tastefully decorated, exceptionally clean, with an abundance of towels and other amenities. Breakfast was included and offerings ranged from 2 hot selections as well as the usual fare. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. There is an indoor pool as well as a fitness center and ample parking. All in all, I was very pleased with my stay at the Hampton Inn.
