This motel, which apparently is one of the best in the region, is clean, well appointed, and in a great location. The rooms are comfortable, the people working there are very pleasant and helpful, and price includes breakfast. The breakfast is more than reasonable and includes eggs, breads, waffles, etc. The motel is in a shopping center (but at the edge so one does not get traffic) where there are a number of restaurants, shops, and a movie theater.

Here's a nice surprise, a tasteful village design supporting a clean and welcoming Hampton Inn. (Not that clean and welcoming are unusual for Hampton Inns.)

The village design includes a safe walk able surround of shops, restaurants and a Cinema. Add a fine pool, exercise room and Country Inn breakfast gathering area and you have everything a family or business traveler might want. Five restaurants are available within the village.

In season, the desk staff reminds us a trolley takes visitors to the Narragansett beach and town areas. While the location might give the family pause for summer trips, located on US1, the trolley would more than make up for the savings of an off shore front stay.

Bottom line; a pleasant surprise, a pleasant village feel, and safe from traffic and noise, an all around value good to above average. Take in that Newport is only twenty minutes away and the quite season would provide a bargain value.

Note, the facility is off of US1, so quiet and traffic free grounds assure a tranquil Rhode Island stay. Good value, great staff.

(Tip: ask or search Spain Restaurant in Narragansett, our favorite. For ocean view dining, don’t miss the Coast Guard House at Narragansett)

It is a perfect spot not only for Newport ( 5 mi ), but also the great beaches of Narragansett, the Block Island Ferry, and historic Jamestown, ( 4 mi.). It is everything you expect from a Hampton and more: indoor pool, excellent exercise area, and a small laundry room. The entire staff are extremely friendly and exceptionaly helpful. Don at the front desk called his wife to find the perfect lunch spot in Newport. In addition, it is in a small village setting which has a variety of restaurants within walking distance; there is even a movie theatre only a couple blocks away. Even the breakfast has more variety than a normal Hampton and has actual cereal not those generic tubes. We will be back.
