Description: A special treat in Portsmouth Rhode Island along the Sakonnet River. Busy, but not crowded, 15 Point offers casual upscale dining with an enchanting moonlit river view. A traditional menu, strongly influenced by the local bounty (especially from the sea), pleases most everyone and house specialties are an ever-changing eclectic delight of innovative and contemporary dishes. Once inside you will be entranced by the view of the Sakonnet River which leads out to the ocean beyond through the panorama of windows. While enjoying Al Fresco dining on our deck, across the river you will occasionally notice the local fishing boats as they make their way to the Tiverton fish market. If you're lucky enough, you might even catch one of the local lobstermen heading out to tend his lobster traps in Mount Hope Bay!

Fifteen Point offers a very nice touch of class for Portsmouth dining. The food is always fresh and the service is excellent. The bar area is also a great place to go for a glass of wine and appetizer with friends. It's a great upscale, yet relaxing, experience.

My husband and I enjoyed our anniversary dinner last weekend at 15 Point Rd Restaurant. Since it was a Sunday, we had the choice of the prix fixe menu or the regular menu. We chose the prix fixe and were very happy with the variety and the quality of the food and beverages. The restaurant is right on the River and the view is wonderful. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and the area. She was very friendly and attentive. Although we live 2 hours away, we now plan to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries at 15 Point Rd.

We went to 15 Point Road on a Restaurant.com coupon, and based on its #1 rating for the area. It did not disappoint. It's a bright tastefully decorated restaurant with a nice view of the shoreline. The service was excellent. And the food was outstanding. We ordered just seafood: clam chowder, stuffed clams, crab legs, lobster in a vodka sauce, lobster Mac and cheese......all excellent (and served beautifully, with an orchid flower adorning each plate). Highly recommended!

We've been to 15 Point Road twice recently ~ went back the second time because we were so impressed on our first visit.
It is located within a clear view of the shoreline ~ on a beautiful day drinks and food can be enjoyed on the deck facing the water.
On our first visit we shared baked brie (a very small (3") log with over toasted bread (as in tooth-breaking hard); we each had a glass of chardonnay; my husband had the Mt. Hope seafood casserole and I had scallops risotto. Both meals were delicious. The second visit we had the same entrees (because we enjoyed them so much the first time) but with different wine and calamari for an appetizer (not the best we've eaten). We did not have dessert.
Only two negative complaints: there is minimal on site parking; most customers park on the street (which is in a residential neighborhood). Secondly, because we used a "Restaurant.com" coupon the restaurant automatically adds on a 20% tip ~ while my husband is usually overly generous when he tips, to not have a choice of the amount is somewhat irritating. Usually restaurants will state on the menu that the gratuity will be added on to parties of 8 or more. So we just don't understand this policy....maybe the owners could explain why.
Otherwise, it's a beautiful drive and a nice restaurant ~ worth a try.
