Not only is the the best clam shack in the state, the but prices are HALF that of the shacks on the coast. Try the fried whole clams and fish tacos!!

We have been loyal fans of "The Shack" since I was young. I now take my husband and my 7 year old son there....he is VERY upset if it the offseason and we can't go. The Shack has changed ownership in the past 2-3 years and we were skeptical at first as family members had worked for the original owner throughout the years. The new owners have done a great job, the food is as good as it always has been. The hot weiners, chowder and clamcakes are my son's favorites. The fish and chips and clams are excellent as well!!!!

All of the seafood is great here. There are picnic tables to sit. There is ice cream also.

Pros: clam roll, lobster roll
Cons: no real bathroom, just a portable

Just OK, not as good as what you'd find right on the beach but just as expensive. There are alternatives, find them.

I have been to this little take out stand MANY times over the years. They have picnic tables to sit at and enjoy your food. The prices are very fair, the quality is excellent. The fried foods are light and not greasy. The chowders are Hamelin made and delicious. They do have limited hours, so check before you go. The ride is a wonderful relaxing ride through the country, but it is not that far from anywhere...after all, it is Rhode Island. The lobster salad is chunky and fresh, the fried clams are not overly battered, the clam cakes actually have quite a few clams in them! They also have a good quality ice cream and dough boys. Hoots try it once, you'll be back for more!
