Love, love, love this place. We've been over a dozen times and always had a great meal. Atmosphere is best described as "local upscale" or "casual elegant". The service is generally good although on a busy Saturday it can feel a little harried.

Thank Mike P

We read lots of mixed reviews about Plum Pt. Bistro on Trip Advisor and Yelp but decided to give it a whirl. Forget what the handful of naysayers spewed in their reviews.
This place is good. Really, really good.
Chef/Owner Ralph Conte is at the top of his game and his food is a welcome reprieve from Narraganset's uninspired restaurant scene.
No, you won't find a gorgeous ocean view here (it sits right on Route 1A by the Jamestown Bridge) and yes, the inside dining room may be bit a bit too loud for some, but that only adds to the conviviality and energy that electrifies the front of the house.
When we arrive for our 6:30 reservation, the hostess graciously greets us as if we were regulars and immediately seats us in a big comfy leather booth. John, our server, is right behind her, ready to answer our questions and obviously extremely knowledgeable about every dish. We like that he is very attentive without being annoying.
For starters we're tempted by the Tuna Tartare and Beet and Goat Cheese salad but opt for a Shrimp Bruschetta with white bean which is very good. There are several intriguing pasta dishes on the menu, as well as a couple of steak preparations, duck and even a hamburger.
For the main course, we order the Chicken with sage, prosciutto and mushroom duxelle. Don't normally order chicken out but this, quite frankly, is the best chicken dish we have ever had - moist and full of flavor.
The Sea Bass over corn salsa and topped with a jicama slaw is also excellent - clean, sublime and nicely textured.
John convinces us to try the Tiramisu for dessert and we comply. Let me tell you, we sample a lot of Tiramisu in our travels but this is absolutely the best - hands down.
We're going back again this week. The food and mood are just too damn good....

after reading all the reviews, 6 of us decided to give this place a try. Yes it was loud but 6 starters and 6 entrees later we were very pleased. Our waiter was simply fantastic, food was way above average and we will be back very soon.

Having come once before in a quieter season and having been thoroughly enchanted, I happened to have the opportunity to return this past week-end at the height of summer madness. While there was a real wait, we had lovely wine on the outdoor patio, mixing and talking with people from all over. When finally seated, we were able to order quickly, and did not have a long time before the meal appeared, as deliciously prepared as I had anticipated. The only drawback I can note was the noise level inside; house was packed and the acoustics do magnify the clamour. The magnificent pasta I had (home-made of course) was superb, and so plentiful that I took half home and had it the next evening for dinner; my companion had the striped bass special, which she said was just a smidge past perfect but lovely and not dry. The chocolate creme brulee with expresso crust special was amazing as well. I am looking forward to a return visit in the fall, perhaps NOT on the week-end.
