“the good, bad & ugly”
Reviewed June 17, 2013

the white chowder was really good. there were 3 options - white, red or clear. came with westminster crackers which i enjoy.
the pint of fried, full-bellied clams were under cooked and because of the long lines, which the place brags about on their t-shirts, perhaps caused them to rush the order. mealy coating should have been a tipoff. but i was sitting at point judith lighthouse, enjoying the view and did not want to go back in the long line to have them cooked more. this is the first time ever that i didn't finish a pint of clams.
the ugly is when i purged the clams at midnight escaping my tent by seconds. first time i ever got sick on clams.... uuuuuughhhhh...

“Great, classic New England seafood shack”
Reviewed June 8, 2013 via mobile

Stopped by for the first time tonight and was quite surprised. For $12 we got two cups of great chowder, half a dozen clam cakes, and a drink. The clam cakes were crispy, hot, and savory - just how I like them. The chowder could have been hotter, but I like my food HOT. Otherwise the chowder was full of clams and potatoes and had just the right amount of flavor to complement the creaminess.

Good food, good service. Chowder was hot and delish on a cold rainy night...the doughboys were piping hot too...and maybe not a healthy choice, but it's vacation...so what ...Live a little...ENJOY

“Let's see how many doughboys one person can eat!”
Reviewed May 25, 2013

This is the place for quick dining. We often send one person to grab takeout from this quick and easy seafood stand. they do not have indoor dining so go with the understanding that you can eat on the picnic tables or eat on the beach. Clam cakes are great but the real draw are their doughboys. To me, go there in person because those want to be eaten piping hot. They have burgers, dogs, fries etc and plenty of options for kids. This is a Rhody tradition!
