“LOVELY STAY”
Reviewed June 17, 2011

From reading the other reviews sounds like there might be a big difference between staying in the inn and staying in the motel annex. We stayed only one night as we were just passing through. The Inn caught my eye as we drove by, and it looked much nicer than any of the tiny old beach motels we saw. We got one of the inn best rooms on the second floor, facing the ocean with a balcony. I really like the room. Old but nice. it was a beautiful night so we enjoyed both a before and after dinner drink on our balcony. The restaurant on the first floor "Turtle Soup" had a great menu and outside dining. We sat in Adirondack chairs on the front lawn and had drinks & appetizers. It was great to watch the people walk by. If you were staying in Narragansett I think the location is fine.
The front desk clerk could use some happy pills. I would expect a better personality at an inn.

We are very happy to hear of your wonderful stay at our Inn and look forward to you visiting us again. You certainly cannot beat the view and relaxing out front in the chairs enjoying the weather and beach.

Hope you have a great happy summer

We left a day early without even asking for a refund because we disliked the hotel so much. The staff at the front desk were so rude that we constantly used the back exit that went down past the dumpster to avoid interacting with anyone from the front desk.
Upon arrival after an 'icy' greeting, our room was freezing cold and no one from the front desk would answer the phone. When we finally got through to someone, we were told we could adjust the the heat from the thermostat in the room. This was not true. It was in a locked plexiglas box in the hall and had to be adjusted by the 'put out' staff.
I was not feeling well, so the next day when my husband asked for a 'Do not disturb sign for me', the front desk person replied, 'Hmmmm' and didn't produce one. As that is such an odd thing to ask for in a hotel. We were told there would be coffee in the morning being served until 11:30, but when my husband went down at 10:00, there was no more coffee. When he asked if they would make another pot, she seemed very put out and refused to make it. He had to go out to a store in the pouring rain to get some.
When we asked for ice, because there is no refrigerator, we were stared at as if we were trying to steal it, and asked what room we were in, when she obviously saw us come down the hotel stairs. When she deemed we were 'ice worthy', she directed us to an ice machine back by the dumpster that was littered with cigarette butts.
No working phone, barely usable shower b/c it was so small, no refrigerator, no microwave, no thermostat in room. Rude staff who treated every and any request as if they were being pit out.
I would never stay here again.

We are very sad to here that you were not feeling well on your trip to Narragansett, RI and hope you are feeling better. We take great pride in our Inn and service and cannot imagine the scope of these issues all happening at once and no one being told or aware of them. We accomodate many guests each evening and are truely customer serviced focused and try to make sure that everyone enjoys their stay with us and explores the beautiful area of South County. This is why we are so surprised disappointed to hear of your dissatisfaction with our Inn. No one at any point was contacted by you and made aware of your issues. We hope that your feeling better and can come back and enjoy beautiful Narragansett at another time.

This was the worst place I've ever stayed! I'm sure the main Inn is very nice but the motel annex is horrible. The beds in our room must be 30 years old. No refrigerator, very tiny bathroom that badly needs renovation. There is no place to put anything i.e. toothbrush and forget about putting on makeup. In addition to small thin rough towels, there were little bars of soap that broke into pieces when opened. There is virtually no parking. Although it seems to be in a safe neighborhood I did not feel safe in this room with the entrance at the back. The restuarant was fabulous. I thought it was interesting that the hostess was quick to inform us that the inn/motel and the restaurant are separately owned and operated. I can't believe this property made trip advisor's list at all. They should seriously upgrade the motel annex or tear it down and expand the parking for the main inn and restaurant.

It is truely disappointing to hear your personal views of our lovely Inn. We are directly across from the Bay and the beach wall which makes the area very busy in the summer time. We have just finished instaling new curtains and sheers in the Annex guestrooms. We have also replaced the bed linens as well. We are constantly updating the Annex building to meet our guests needs. I do feel that the comments are not a true reflection of our Inn and completely over embelished and very subjective. We have many guests stay at our Inn who come every year after year due to our Inn and central location.

Overall a pleasant experience...manager was helpful and even honored the online rate when I asked....room was very small but clean and comfortable bed....nice deck if you wana sit outside.....no fridge in room...BIG Negative: beach is a FAR walk.....much farther than anticipated..you can see the water by Inn..but theres a wall and all rocks on other side...you have a long walk to beach (seems longer wen you have all your stuff) because you can not park in lot right at beach without being a resident.....so we tried to find a space closer to beach which was a hassle...got a parking ticket!!!! once there its $6 per person for the day......if you literally want to be on the beach the Village Inn is right there......also the Turtle Soup restaurant had a 45 min wait for dinner so we had to go elsewhere...make sure to make a reservation if you want to eat there!! they should give some priority to those staying at Inn i think.....The Ocean Rose is good for a night or two if needed as its clean and less expensive.

Thank you for your comments, they are truley welcomed. Being right across and in the main area of the beach and combine in the sun and summer makes the area busy. we are glad to hear youn enjoyed your stay and the Inn.

We spent one night to attend the wedding of a family member. After reading the reviews on trip advisor, I was prepared for whatever lied ahead of us. The room was outdated and the bathroom needs an upgrade, but like I said I was prepared for this. What I was not prepared for was the lack of mirror space and inadequate electrical outlets. The TV sits right in front of the only decent mirror in the room. I actually applied my make up outside. There were only thee accessible outlets in the entire room. Needless to say, not one of them was in the bathroom. This made it very difficult to get ready for an evening out. Would I recommend this hotel, probably not, but in a pinch, I guess it would have to do.

Excellent room with a spectular view. We stayed in the main Inn building in a room with a deck. Friendly staff - very helpful. Restaurant has excellent food, service, and pleasant wait staff. Cozy room with warm furniture. Nice atmosphere.

Only compliants - Sliding glass doors to deck needed to be washed and shower liner in tub needed cleaning. For the price of the room - everything should be spotless.
