This family run restaurant is a Galilee landmark. If you're not in a hurry, the food is worth the wait. Service is usually excellent, but sometimes slow because it's always packed. But grab a seat on the top deck and watch the boats and the panoramic view of Block Island, and the time flies by. Best clam cakes and chowder ever! Menu has many different choices for everyone - seafood to meat and potato lovers to vegans. Try the fish taco - terrific!

Great atmosphere, great service, wonderful ambiance. You cant beat the view of the ocean at sunset on the deck or sitting by the outdoor fire pit patio. Start with the Bloody Mary (its a house recipe). Calamari as an ap - tasty with just enough peppers and olive oil. The seared scallops are plenty and sweet, cooked to perfection. Grilled bourbon salmon my other favorite. And all this served by friendly smiling servers who love being at George's of Galilee! It's a summer tradition for my family, a must do - always!

George's has great views and is a busy place in the summer, but the food is just average. Last few times we've been there we were disappointed.

If you're taking the ferry to Block Island, a stop at George's is usually on the bill as well! It's right on the beach, so you can soak in some rays while you wait for the ferry, or go inside. They're happy hour is awesome (I recommend the fish tacos!). George's has been around forever, and is a local favorite. It can be crowded in the summer, and service a bit slow in the winter - but it's good for a reasonably priced meal, especially if you don't want to get out of your bathing suit!

My husband went here for dinner this past Saturday, and arrived early for dinner, around 5. We were sat quickly, and our waitress was attentive at first, and it went downhill from there-after we got our drinks and placed our order, she seemed to forget we were there. My husband got the fish and chips, which he liked. I got the haddock and scallops, and it was not very good at all. The haddock was ok,but my 5 scallops didn't taste fresh,in fact one was way over done, and hard! We won't be going back to George's
