Monahan's is one of those places that you can't miss if you visit RI. At the end of Narragansett's seawall, you have to pass by it sooner or later as you navigate the beautiful coastline of RI. Probably no other place has such a true clam shack appearance and location than Monahan's. Some form of take out seafood place has been in this spot for some 50 years, and Monahan's goes back a ways for sure. As for the food, its strictly window service and really no better or worse than anyone else's..(Lots of seafood places in that area, pretty hard to judge the food at each in comparison). The prices are decent and the clam cakes and chowda' is very good. There are some tables outside, but plenty of seawall to sit on and enjoy your food, plus, a pretty good size dock and fishing area behind the place. It's really kinda funny that at one end of the seawall is this place that is no frills, and at the other end is the Coastguard House that is just about as nice and fancy as it gets for seafood in Narragansett. In short, good food cheap with plenty of outdoor atmosphere...Enjoy : )
