“More for the Money?”
Reviewed July 22, 2013

My biggest complaint about this beach is the increase in the season pass (from $30.00 to $60.00) for residents of RI. They doubled the price but did not double the amenities. There are fewer lifeguards, no improvements were made on the very old facilities and they shut down most of the restrooms an hour before closing leaving only two stalls available for everyone trying to leave the beach! I love the beach itself and the calm surf but they need to make some major improvements to merit the price hike. Narragansett Town Beach is very expensive but they offer so much more.

“Great Family Beach”
Reviewed July 15, 2013

We have traveled to this beach for many years. Always a nice family visit. My favorite part is being able to take a walk down to Galilee and watch the boats in the water way.
Dislike having to bring our garbage home with us.

“Very Nice Beach while R.I.”
Reviewed July 12, 2013

We took one day on July 3rd and made a day of it at this beach in RI. This is a very nice state run beach and on this off day, it was not too crowded. My only issue was they charged me $20 for out of state vs the $10 for in state. We were visiting in RI and spending money as tourists, so not sure they really needed to double charge me for the use of their beach. Sane is nice and wide with plenty of room to spread out and there were lots of parking spaces as well. Nice little food shack with all the regular snack foods and fixings. Some small pieces of seaweed floating in the water, but not slimy and did not stick to our bodies. The water was wonderful and not real cold, which I expected. The whole beach is protected by a a rock seawall a mile off shore, so the waves were nice but not too violent for children. Great cove and great beach for New England!!! Recommended!!

“Great Family Beach”

Little waves and full of families. This beach is always packed so make sure to come early to find a spot. And, if you want space, make sure to space out with blankets and chairs or people will sit on top of you.
