One of the nicest views in all of RI. You can walk the grounds and check out the recently renovated lighthouse. I love just sitting at Pt. Judith and watching the ocean.

We have visited Point Judith Lighthouse many times after a visit to Aunt Carries. We love the view of the bay. This time we were not able to get on the grounds due to construction, but we still walked around area behind the lighthouse.
We were with another couple who have lived in Rhode Island most of their lives. They took us to a spot we had never noticed. As you are coming down the road toward Pt Judith, there is a road---more like a path off to the right. The sign says camp something or other. This leads to a parking lot. There is a fisherman's memorial that you climb to a peak (it is an easy climb--the steps are well designed). Here there are benches that surround a compass rose and a lovely view. You can see Block Island, the Pt Judith Light and the break water.
At the foot of the steps there is a memorial to fishermen who have died in Narragansett Bay.
You can also walk toward the breakwater and see the ocean. There were young men fishing for flounder the night we were there, with good success. We stayed and watched the sunset. A lovely evening.

It's such a beautiful lighthouse. You can get some great photos of it from both land and sea. I've been there when the fog horn has been on too.. really loud! It's a great place to walk around and take in the view. If you have a boat or a jetski, the view of the light house from the water is wonderful as well. You can go for just a quick visit or stay for a while. Since the whole surrounding area is scenic, it's nice to include it in a scenic drive around. There's many other pretty places to stop around there!

This is not a 5 star hotel, but it is a great spot to relax the evening before taking the ferry to Block Island. Rooms are clean and neat, outside there is a lot of seagull poop, just where something on your feet, it is an ocean town. Dining in town is great and causual, beach is clean.
