We had a nice time and a newly renovated room was a bonus. The down side of this place is
as follows; One mirror only in the bathroom-really? Nit picking about beach towels. Lastly,
do breakfast right or don't do it at all. You could add some fruit, yogurt, waffles and a variety
of cereals. Little things like that mean alot.

Nice staff and Catania, you were the nicest!

4 woman looking for a relaxing long weekend. That was what we got. The hotel was newly renovated and extremely clean, the staff were friendly and the pool was beautiful after a long day at the beach. We drove to the beach as the walk seemed a bit far in 98 degrees but the free parking and beach pass made it very accommodating. The hotel even provides beach towels and a tote (not to keep) for your use at the pool or beach. We would certainly stay there again and we may next year.

This is a nice place to stay a night. It was clean and bright but a bit overpriced. But compared to the other places around, it was a good deal. The beach was quite a distance to walk but they also offer parking at the beach free of charge.

The one thing that did bother me is that they did nickel & dime you to death. Example, when I asked for a toothbrush because I forgot mine, they charged me $1.00. that is not a big deal but it kind of turned me off.

All and all not a bad place to stay....I just wasn't thrilled with Westerly and if I had not been there to visit friends who live there, I would not bother going again.

Looking for a relaxing weekend away, we called ahead and made arrangements with manager on the phone. He appeared helpful. However, upon arrival we realized he did not communicate any of this with his staff. The woman (manager) was very frustrating at check in and harassed our guests when they checked in as well. Not a resort, rather a motel. For what little the area has to offer, the rooms are over priced, and we were charged for additional parking. There were also many "pincher bugs" in the room. The icing on the cake was definitely the poor customer service we received at check in and check out. The female manager was rude to us, our guests, and even her own staff! Frustrating mostly because of her lack of communication and people skills. When we asked to speak to the manager we had made arrangements with over the phone- she refused.

Unfortunately, I think that I probably led myself to incorrectly believe that this was a fancy resort-like hotel next to the beautiful beach in Rhode Island. If I had been to this town before, i would have probably known better. When we pulled up, it was a shock to us that the place was basically a motel. The swimming pool was a lot smaller than the photos would lead you to believe. Our room was really cute and clean, but it was extremely tiny for the price we paid. The bathroom could use a little sprucing up as well, with old drop-ceiling tiles and kind of dingy counter tops. The shower was pretty weak and sprayed a bit all over the place. It's not something I would typically complain about in a low budget motel, but at this price I certainly expect something a lot newer and updated. We choose this place over others because of the free breakfast, but it really is just coffee and bagels. A few pieces of fruit would really help add more value. We were hoping to grill dinner one night, but there's a pretty lame charcoal grill (that you have to provide the charcoal for), so it didn't really seem worth it.
After spending a full day at the hotel, I am starting to think that this might be one of the nicer places and maybe Westerly beach hotels/motels are all priced on the higher end. On the positive side, there's a nice upstairs patio in the pool area where you can escape from the screaming children. You can walk to the few restaurants down by the beach. (There's not much of a town if you are expecting a lot of shops and bars to walk around too). They do have a private beach that's about a 8 to 10 minute walk, but you have to pay for chairs and umbrellas. It was nice to have space, however, since the rest of the beach was really crowded. If I did return to Westerly, there's a good chance I would stay here again if I could afford to.

Room Tip: We only had a pool-side queen room available. It is probably worth it to get something with a little...

Our family (6) of us stayed in the family studio this weekend. We are still having some billing issues with an orginal reservation that we changed, but overall we were pleasantly suprised by the cleanliness of the room and how cute it was. Love the courtyards and kids loved the hammock lol. The best thing was the private beach and not fighting with the crowds and parking. I would pay just for the beach and 2 sec walk to the car. The definate down fall or negetive was Maria's Seaside restaurant, way way over priced for the food, I was thinking I was going to get fine dining for the price but it was sub par to say the least. Menu was small I was expecting more seafood for being on the beach and the quality and execution to the meals were highly dissappointing. If your looking for a great meal this isnt the place to go. But overall good rooms, good service and great beach atmosphere. Would definately return.

Westerly is unfortunately full of some rough hotels. This place was clean and the service was good. Please do yourself a favor and get a renovated room. Our room was not, and it was not awful, but after 3 days I was ecstatic to be leaving. I also felt it was over-priced. frankly, for the motel like experience you get we paid near NYC hotel like prices. I would recommend this place to families and groups of friends. This is not the ideal place for romance. Also, they have strict policies on guests, noise and drinking, so be aware.

We appreciate and thank you for your feedback. Feedback from our guests has been vital to our success over the past 41 years in business. Our repeat clientele expect a certain experience at the Breezeway, which is one reason we continuously reinvest in our property each off season. Not knowing exactly which room you stayed in, I am pleased to say that we are close to completing a major renovation that will be ready for our May 4th, 2012 re-opening. This renovation includes a brand new swimming pool area and a top to bottom renovation of 19 guestrooms, 6 suites and 2 villas.
