For a town that serves so much seafood, we had a hard time finding a restaurant in Newport that simply serves whole lobster (one where we weren't going to pay $100 a piece anyway). The Atlantic Beach Club popped up on OpenTable and we decided to cross the bridge and check it out. Much about the place feels very dated, but I like a place that doesn't take itself too seriously. Our server was great. She had good suggestions and we had the chance to chat a bit with her about the area since the place was very empty (it was winter, in the middle of a snowstorm). We found exactly what we wanted - lobster by the pound with basic veggie and potato sides. Both lobsters were cooked perfectly. Lovely, friendly place.
