We booked a last minute trip to RI and needed to get a good deal in Newport. The prices were beyond expensive so following some TA reviewers we looked at Middletown as we had a car. I have to say it worked pretty well for us. The location is really 10 mins from the heart of Newport and with ample parking available in the town. I kinda liked that we left the busy town every evening to head back our quiet hotel. The area around the hotel had retail outlets and restaurants too. Middletown is a good base to head out to other areas in Rhode Island. The hotel is truely spotless. Fantastic pool and gym. The breakfast buffet was busy every morning but they did have additional seating outside. The staff heated some oatmeal for our son and was happy to help in any other way. Breakfast was continental with coffee and light drinks available all day. We grabbed coffee on the way out everyday. We got an excellent deal by ringing the hotel directly and reserving a baby crib. The room was pretty big and the bathroom was well equipped too. Had microwave, fridge, cd player, free wi fi and dvd player all standard in every room. Truely comfortable bed and good A/C too.
