“pretty, easy walk”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 17, 2013

The 2.5 mile walk is easy and beautiful. The roses were blooming. the trail is well-maintained, and one could even push a wheelchair for most of the trail.

“A great birding experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 2, 2013

This state park has several miles of trails (all easy) around a point overlooking the ocean and Sakonnet River. Various overlooks and opportunities for just sitting watching the waves and listening to the ocean. Somewhat small parking lot that can fill on weekends.

“Nice area to walk but currently closed”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2013

We look for different walks to do in the Winter Season and wish the closure of this refuge was better communicated on the web site, which we visited before heading there. It was still a nice walk on the beach in the direction that was not closed.

Was educational and fun as well as beautiful. Our family really enjoyed finding different animals in the inside display plus walking along the paths outside.

“Beauty!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 31, 2012

Rhode Island has some of the most beautiful habitats in the country, especially with seaside diversity. Visit Sachuest for a peaceful walk enjoying both field and sea.The loop trails are level, easy to follow and offer great birding and spectacular seaside view. And, use the visit to spend some time in the visitor center and find out more about what you can do to protect our amazing natural resources. Pair a visit here with your patronage of one of the many local restaurants that feature sustainable seafood and local farm-to-table fare and make your visit to Aquidneck Island one that truly gives back.
