Water was very clear and fairly warm, but it would have been better if there were ocean waves... Supervised beach great for families, especially with young children.

...and this comes from someone who has been living in the Boston area for over 20 years. It's a cove with soft white sand which has an intimate feel without the obnoxiousness and crowds of more popular beaches. It serves as a natural harbor for sailboats, and there's always something interesting to watch. The water gets deep at a small distance, so very little wading is needed to get a good swim. Parking fills up early, but if you arrive after 4, you won't have to pay the $20 fee and will likely find a spot. Perfect after a walk in Newport or Norman Bird Sanctuary. No real bathroom is available, but some port-a-potties are in the parking area.

3rd beach was small but beautiful and natural. Great for kayaking and small kids.
