“Excellent value with spacious apartments”
Reviewed July 17, 2014

Really enjoyed staying here. Staff are helpful and friendly. Excellent value for money considering we have stayed in places far more expensive that don't offer anything close to this. A little noisy due to traffic but no more so than anywhere else on a main road. Definitely a happy customer.

In the value range of accommodations, this little resort was the perfect place for my daughter and I. We spent 4 nights in 20 poolside and absolutely loved every minute of it. A one bedroom with daybeds in the living area and a full kitchen, our room was the perfect base of operations for us as we explored the Whitsunday Islands. Free wifi, in-room laundry, spacious rooms, covered parking ... and our own "pet" cockatoo ... a wild cockatoo that visited us each morning, posing for pictures. I would definitely stay here again. We both loved everything about the Mango House and would both agree that it was the best place we stayed on our two week long holiday. The only downside for some people might be it's location ... it's not within reasonable walking distance of the strip in Airlie Beach, but that was fine with us.

Our group of two couples stayed here in June and booked 2 studio apartments, which have kitchenettes, however, the manager upgraded one of the studios to a 1 bedroom apartment, much appreciated, which gave us a larger lounge and kitchen with full size fridge, and a balcony overlooking the pool from the 1st floor.
The Apartments are not serviced and we stayed 3 nights, so a struggle to make the towels last that long, even with the washer and dryer a cupboard in the bedroom, you couldn't leave it going at night.
The studio has a small toilet/shower off the bedroom with a slatted sliding door.
The IGA and liquor store across the road is very convenient and also the tavern just 5 mins walk around the corner. A bus stop also round the corner, however as there were four of us it worked out cheaper to get a taxi at around $8-10 max. We used taxis 3-4 times. We walked to town centre once, it's 20mins at a good pace.
We saw only the manager, and a friendly lady who may have been his wife. There didn't appear to be any other staff, which may be why they can offer such good rates. The manager reminded us of that on the one occasion we requested a fresh towel each as we'd just arrived back from the Great Barrier Reef trip and needed a hot shower.
The hot water in the 1 bdrm apartment ran out before the second person could complete their shower.
We would return here again with friends or family.

Room Tip: If returning, I would not want a roadside room, traffic begins early. The poolside room was quieter...

Hi & thanks, as i have mentioned many times before we like 90% of all accomodation places in the area are self contained and are only serviced weekly which in our case enables us to offer very affordable prices, some say amazing.......but we do offer daily services for an extra fee if people request it, probably about 1% ever do.
Hope to see you again and rate a bit better Pete

What great value, we didn't expect this sort of accommodtion at under $100 per night. There was a little bit of road noise, but not too much. Very spacious as said by other reviewers & very comfortable. With a full kitchen & laundry, the only think missing was a oven, but a electric fry pan would have been great instead. A very warm welcome on arrival. Thanks for your service

This Motel definitely offered one of the best values we experienced in Queensland, and not just because of the upgrade we got on our arrival. The unit was spacious, well-equipped (dishwasher, washing machine, dryer) and felt brand new. It was situated on the first floor and featured a private staircase down to the inviting pool in the courtyard. The owner was helpful und friendly. We also had free WIFI in our room – something very refreshing after experiencing the annoying habit of charging extra money or restricting access time in a lot of accommodations across Australia and New Zealand.

Hmm, not quite sure what qualifies as a resort, but this isn't one.

It qualifies well as a nice motor inn or motel. It could also be infrequently serviced apartments as you have to stay a whole week before you get your room serviced. No resort does that.

Annoyances, a bit pokey and small, the bathroom door is once of those vented doors and is right next to the bed, so if someone uses the toilet the experience is well shared. The curtains also let in a lot of light from the security lights. Broken ironing board.

If you can get the place cheap, we paid $150, and are looking for somewhere to crash, I would say go for it.

If you come here for a holiday looking for a resort you are going to be disappointed.

Stayed three nights as part of a much longer road-trip. We paid a very economical rate - there is no need to pay $200-$300 or more for a good apartment in Airlie Beach.

The property is an impressive fusion between traditional tropical Queenslander, and modern resort look - very nice style indeed. The buildings form a horseshoe around the large pool and gardens, and all apartments (ground floor and first floor) face out onto the pool, while the cheaper first-floor studio rooms face outwards from the building.

Management are informed and helpful ... no problem in that regard at all. A small thing that we had issues with were ants in the bathroom and kitchen at times but we were given spray to help this..

The pool / BBQ area is fine and the gardens have a nice tropical feel, but without being over the top - you definitely don't get the sense of dank damp jungle and mosquito infestation at all.

A good feature is that the childproof pool fences and gates are attached to the front of each apartment, so that the whole pool area is free of unsightly and claustrophobic fences ... a nice touch.

For self-catering travellers, the kitchen set-up is excellent, with everything one would need, including an almost full-size fridge. There is a supermarket directly opposite, and a hotel and restaurant very close by as well.

The property is about 20+ minutes walk from Airlie Beach's main street, but there are also buses that go past reasonably regularly, and if you are planning to book a Whitsunday Islands or Barrier Reef boat-trip, the operators pick you up a the door anyway.

Overall we liked the spacious and well-designed one-bedroom apartment a great deal, and for the price we thought it very good. Suits particularly those who have a vehicle, and are usually the type to self-cater.

The one hiccup is that there are only two parking places for each three apartments, so it is possible that you are denied parking directly outside your door. However we dealt with this okay - there is overflow parking nearby your apartment on the property. This property is highly recommended.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room on the back of the property away from the main road.

Hi and thanks for writing about us and glad you had a nice time here.
Tiny ants occur rarely and only for a few days but have been everywhere in Airlie recently, not sure what brings them out but when they arrive they are in every hotel / house etc in the area.
At least a quick spray sends them packing but sorry about them and they seem to have already vanished again. One of the joys of living in / visiting the tropics.
