If you want to experience the beauty of nature at it's finest, beavertail lighthouse is the place to go. Wether it's to see the sunset or to watch the waves before a storm, this is the place to be. The paved loop is approx. 1 mile so it also serves for a great walking loop.

Beautiful small park a short drive from Newport. We had a lovely morning visit enjoying the bay views and the buildings which all had really interesting historical info plaques. Really helped to imagine what life would have been like as a lighthouse keeper out here. FYI - the small museum and gift shop were closed for the season.
Have a great visit!

When I lived in Jamestown, I would bike here every morning and watch the sun come up. The park was deserted and peaceful. In the summer it gets crowded, but there is lots of parking. Bring a chair and picnic and enjoy the ocean.

The views of the ocean are spectacular. The grounds are kept up very well, You can fish off the rocks and actually catch fish. I find it a very relaxing spot.
