“Very friendly wooded campground”
Reviewed June 29, 2013

Just stayed 2 nights to visit friends who are seasonal. Didn't need to use the bathrooms as have full RV. Game room, pool area & campground well kept. Spacious sites. Very friendly staff. Appears to be high percentage of seasonals. Looking forward to going back.

We tented in a great spot. There were minimal bugs, but it is camping so certain things can't be avoided.
The bathrooms are cleaned regularly, and it's in a town where everyone knows everyone, yet you don't feel like an outsider.
There were a few things that could use some maintenance but everyone was helpful and the coffee free, when the office was open.
Beaches are about 30 min in all directions, but we would love to come back.

We stayed here last year and enjoyed the time there but as you can see in my other review it was a little rough. I had seen that others had "issues" with this place having mostly seasonal campers there and was worried. Both times we encountered only very friendly staff and campers. I had seen that they recently had new owners and that they had been making improvements. Boy have they, the bathrooms were updated and clean and always stocked. The pond had plenty of sunfish to catch and the complimentary crafts were a hit with the kids. One simple improvment that they could use would be at the "train ride". Although not the campgrounds responsibility a sign stating "line starts here" would be helpful so people waiting would get their appropriate turn. There was kids without parents and some parents lacked commonsense. Again this in no way should reflect on the campground. But if going to the barrel ride make sure your ready to tell someone else or their kid that they were not next in line. I'm very impressed with the steps that the new owners have made and we will be making whispering pines one of our camping locations every season.

Room Tip: Stayed at 22 and 21 w. was a nice private flat spot.

This is our first year camping in quite a while. Our daughter and her family camp here which is why we chose this place. But we are very impressed by how clean the rest rooms usually are and the work the new owners have put into this property. Most of all we appreciate the friendliness of staff and their courteous manner. They are always there to help especially for us new campers. We enjoy the proximity to beaches and surrounding tourist attractions. Also they have great activities for kids and adults alike. Crafts, races ,poker walks, horses.hoe tournaments

We have camped at Whispering pines for 3 years as seasonal's. We enjoy the pool and the snack bar on a hot day. The ocean is 20 minutes away! We have a quiet site in the back of the park. we keep our site clean and cozy. We were pleased to see the improvements that have been so far!
i am not too thrilled with the teenagers flying around on golf carts but i am sure with new owners this will stop. This is our home, away from home

Whispering Pines is a great place to camp. It is only 15 minutes from the ocean, they have plenty of things to do, the owners are just wonderful. I have my camper there for the whole season, this is my first time camping there (I live in NY) and I just absolutely love it! They are pet friendly too, my beagle loves it there. 5 stars for Whispering Pines!

Room Tip: This is a campground, so there are no "rooms." You must bring your camper or tent.

I am a seasonal here, first time RV owner. When deciding where to become seasonal we scoped out campgrounds in the southern RI area. We have tented at many campgrounds over the last 20 years, for me nothing compares to the welcoming feel we have received here. We asked several people how they liked it here during our seasonal search and hands down, everyone raved (most had been coming for years). As we walked around with the map to find an available spot to become ours, people stopped to offer help and to welcome us! Any questions, problems or concerns we have had as we get to know our RV has been answered quickly and positively by one of the knowledgable staff. In the past 8 weeks Whispering Pines has become my second home and each time I come here I am amazed at the people here. Their willingness to help is beyond generous.
There are new owners this year, Camron and Justin. Not only are they warm, friendly, caring and all around awesome! They have done a tremendous amount of work here; fixing roads, painting bathrooms, updating the game areas and the pool! We have been telling everyone we know to come and and will continue to rave about it here. We are incredibly happy with the decision to be at Whispering Pines and know that if you decide to come here for a visit you will be welcomed by the staff and the good old fashioned feel of camping you remember as a kid that warms your heart!
