“Things have changed”
Reviewed July 22, 2012

When we visit family every summer, we usually go to Uncle Ronnie's. While previously we always had good food, this time the quality was uneven. I ordered the fish and chips; the fish was perfect, but the fries were greasy (that's how the locals like them, though) and some were still half frozen. The salad tasted like bagged mix. My dining partners experienced the same with the fries, and the "fresh" chocolate pie looked like the freezer variety from the grocery store. They have remodeled since our last visit to enlarge the bar and reduce the size of the dining room, so maybe food isn't their top priority anymore...

“Used to be nicer”
Reviewed June 25, 2012

We used to go here a lot. Then we discovered they completely changed the inside so it's now more of a sports bar than a nice little place to eat.
we won't be returning any time soon. The dining room area is too small now. too bad as the food was always good.

“wonderful relaxing night out”
Reviewed February 28, 2012

Diverse menu, went based two things, one recommendation of a friend to try the godfather platter. BEST creation ever! staff super friendly, restaurant is a diamond in the rough. Second reason to try it was from a wedding, Uncle Ronnie catered, homemade chicken pot pies were out of this world! He even makes his own salad dressing. Can't wait to return...

“Redheaded Stepchild”
Reviewed January 17, 2012

Had Godfather Platter (I finished it, first time ever, either my stomach has grown or portion was smaller, the latter is more accurate), wife had Steak Tips (cooked exactly the way she ordered). $40 plus tip.

My wife and I have been to Uncle Ronnie's many times, great food, service and value.

However, since they swapped the "bar" and "dining room" around a few things have changed. Dining room entrance is old Bar entrance. We visited the first day they opened with the new configuration. Candid camera moment.

Salad bar is gone. This was one of the key attractions. I've witnessed people walking out when they found that the salad bar was gone. Maybe they can offer - all you can eat family style salad?

Dining room service has gone downhill. I think it is because the dining room is no longer in site of the wait staff area. They have to actually walk into the dining room, before they could simply glance over to see if you need anything.

It appears that they have moved back to a "Tavern" operation full time.
For those who are not drinkers but diners, as we are, I think Ronnie has alienated a lot of them with this move.

Truly a step in the wrong direction but booze makes Ronnie money however it does not develop loyalty.

We will continue to visit when we travel by the area but won’t make a special trip like we have in the past.
