We have enjoyed the restaurant at Foster Country Club for years and have found it to be an excellent value. Nothing fancy, but the menu is varied with very reasonable prices and large portions.
We have routinely dined with family or family and friends for an "evening out" without breaking the bank. It's not a linen tablecloth or candles type of place, but one you can expect to find your neighbors having dinner or having a drink at the bar (which can occasionally get a bit noisy) It's the 19th hole to the adjacent golf course and of course gets busy during the golf season, but it's still worth the wait (although it's been years since we had to wait for a table).
My family absolutely loves their fish and chips (light and fluffy fish) while I tend to hope prime rib is on their menu (two sizes - both to die for). Their garlic smashed potatoes are equally yummy (when available).
The waitstaff is cordial and polite, but not what you might get at a high-end place. They generally try hard and their hearts are in the right place.
FCC is usually closed during the winter, but this year (2012) is open on a limited basis for special functions (example: tonight is a wine dinner).
Make it a stop when you need to get out of the hot kitchen and don't want to get into a suit or tie or wash dishes. You will come back (as we have) for years.
