This Boston-based chain may have recently been partly or totally sold to a Rhode Island restaurant group, but nothing seems to have been lost in translation. We're from Boston and our friends are from southeastern Connecticut, so we settled on Papa Razzi at Garden City Shopping Center in Cranston as a convenient meeting spot for a casual Saturday evening dinner. P.R. consistently delivers an excellent product, and this time was no exception.

Our Saturday 6pm reservation was waiting for us, and we enjoyed top-notch food and service. The waiter was there when we needed him, but wasn't trying to over-do the experience, and gave us our space once he saw we weren't in a hurry. In fact, we hogged the table for three hours, but were mindful of that as while they were turning tables like crazy, they never quite got totally full so it was clear that we weren't holding things up.

Everyone had a different pasta dish - all pronouced as very good. My wife and I shared a Caesar Salad; the friends shared Calamari - both excellent. They shared home-made Tirimasu; we shared home-made Apple Crisp - again, excellent. All in, dinner including one round of wine-by-glass was about $170 pre-tip - good value for the money.

The decor is nice and Tuscan-looking; in fact, even a little nicer than other P.R.s we have eaten at in the Boston area. Nothing exotic or extravagant here at Papa Razzi, but it was as good as ever. Let's hope new ownership doesn't screw up a good thing.

LOVE the ciabatta they serve with dinner. Classics like the chicken cutlet with lemon butter are up to par with the best smaller Italian restaurants in the state. A GREAT place to dine while you're shopping and even when you're not! OUTSTANDING and a great value!!

One thing people don't know is that Paparazzi is a true "made from scratch and made to order" restaurant, where you can even bring in your own recipe, if they have the ingredients, they will make it!

I find that it is consistently good, it's good "American Italian" food and the portions are very healthy. There's a daily risotto special as well as a wonderful under rated brunch.

There are various locations sprinkled out around the Boston area and I'd say if you were looking for something safe, hearty and a good value, check out Paparazzi.

First let me start off when this place first opened we could not of got enough. Eveything from the pizza to the entree, just good. Last year or two the food especially the pizza really took a hit, the restuarant has great potential, (total make over inside) and maybe going back to their roots of what once made them great.

We enjoyed another excellent lunch at Papa Razzi in Cranston, RI. It's one of our favorites. the freshly made bread sticks and butter can't be avoided; and the warm, fresh bread is sinful. For entrees, we both succombed once again to our favorite Scalopini Pollo ($15). It is an enormous serving of a single, breaded piece of chicken coated in breadcrumbs and sauteed with butter, lemon and capers; served with oven roasted potatoes and marinated fresh diced tomatoes. The chicken covers the plate. We always take at least half home and it makes yet another meal. I save the potatoes for dicing to make home fries the next morning with my breakfast. I had my favorite Montepulciano wine ($6.75) and my wife had a Cusumano merlot ($8). She also had a Decaf Cappuccino ($4) which was delicious and still warm when served (an apparent problem for a lot of restaurants these days). Our server, Aubrey, was gracious, efficient and timely. What a nice treat!!
