Best event I ever coordinated. Everything was done so professionally. The atmosphere is beautiful and tables and umbrellas were set-up on the patio for additional and enjoyable space. Everything was done with class and the food was beautifully displayed and so good. The hosts and servers I have to say were the best! They made sure all my expectations were more than met and so efficient and friendly. I highly recommend Chapel Grille for any event as it will a grand one.

Stunningly beautiful restaurant, restored chapel on a hill, with breathtaking views. Wish I could stop there. Went twice--very busy and annoyingly loud. Drinks and wine, while pricey, very good.(Bree, the bartender was a bright light) The food on the other hand...disturbing. First visit--grilled lamb chops. Slightly marked on the outside but it was obvious their grill-equipment was not up to the task to char the meat properly. Second visit--a major appetizer snafu that cast serious doubts on their commitment to QUALITY. A take on a "polpetti" (meatball) calzone that was MICROWAVED! The bread/roll was like glue! (Ramsay would have your head on a pole!!) The manager came out and said--"We will take that off your bill." Duh.
Cool place...we wanted to love it.

This restaurant is usually quite "packed" so we made reservations for Memorial Day evening. Turns out, since most people were going back to work the next day, and were at, or having their own barbecues, we were the benefactors of having the place to ourselves. We had a lovely table in front of the fireplace and our servers were excellent as was the food. The restaurant was built as a chapel in the 1800's and there has been much money put into it to make it look spectacular inside and out. When leaving, we spoke to the manager and told him how lovely the restaurant was and his immediate reply, (after thanking us), was to ask us how the food was; his more important concern. We liked seeing that concern, but, that night, anyway, it was very fine. Service is definitely not rushed, even though this was clearly not a "money making" night for them. Check out the restaurant's web site for photos and history.

Atmosphere is comfortable and trying to be sheek, but they are in a shopping center, so you've got to get beyond that. The food is always delicious, but the amount served for entrees does not satisfy larger appetites. If that describes you, make sure you order an appetizer and salad and have plenty of cash on your pocket or your credit card because this place is pricey! Our party of 5 had the oysters, calamari & shrimp and cleo salad for apps. Cleo salad was ok, others were good, but not the best I've ever had. For entrees we had lobster tail & veal pasta special, short ribs and the seafood lasagna. Those were all fantastic but very rich - not diet food by any stretch. For dessert we tried the creme brûlée, strawberry rhubarb & cream and ice cream sandwich special. We were disappointed in the ice cream sandwich special which contained no ice cream at all. It was more like a chocolate mouse sandwich - good, but just not what we wanted or expected.

We were seated promptly when we arrived a few minutes before our reservation. Our waiter kept commenting on our conversation, which I thought was a bit rude. He also fluctuated from a NY accent and an Italian accent which was interesting. The service other than that was good.

The food is definitely yummy (albiet pricey) and there aren't many nice restaurants like it around in the area that take reservations. We definitely reserve this place for special occasions.

Those were the words my wife used after our dining experience at the Chapel Grille Restaurant in Cranston, RI. We first heard of the restaurant when it was featured on a Boston-based TV show. The food looked excellent and the ambiance (it is in an old cathedral) looked like a place we had never been to. We were very anxious to try it out. We did read some reviews prior to our going and the general comment was that while the food was good, the service was less than desired and there was a snobby attitude on behalf of some of the staff. Nothing could have been further from the truth for us. From the time we arrived, Joe, the dining room manager, couldn't have been nicer, the hostess who took us to our table had a smile on her face and said "It is nice to have you tonight," and our server, Liz, was fabulous. We sat on the mezzanine level overlooking the bar (an incredible view). My wife had grilled scallops, broccoli and asparagus ("This is a happy plate," my wife said. "The serving size is perfect. I am not overwhelmed by the amount of food. A happy plate for me."), while I had a delicious rib eye, the most incredible mashed potatoes (garlic and parmesan cheese) I have ever had, and wonderful asparagus. The helpings were not so overwhelming that we didn't have room for dessert. We had the unbelievable triple chocolate mousse. I will be dreaming of that for days to come. The meal might have been a bit pricey but it was well worth every penny of it. We can't wait to go back. Next time, though, we will ask to sit in the skyline room. On beautiful days and evenings, the top of the room pulls back and you see the sky or stars. A wonderful experience--"more than we expected."
