My wife and I visited Blueberry Pointe in the early fall of 2005 and were so impressed we checked backed in one day after we checked out. The small Island location is great for a relaxing getaway. The calm waters were perfect for my first kayaking expererience and the views from our room made us feel as if we are on a ship. The downstairs suite is small but has a very comfortable bed while the upstairs suite is the size of a small apartment. Two very popular cottages are also on the grounds. The owners Steve and Carolyn are gracious and accomodating hosts and the resident dog and cat are also great company. The location is less than one mile from the charming downtown and just a few miles from the Ct. border. This section of RI has a real country feel to it yet it is less than a half hour to Providence. The only drawback is when its time to say goodbye. But if your like us as well as most of Steve and Carolyn guests you will return.

We chose Blueberry Pointe on the Lake as the location for the first half of our honeymoon, based solely on the website. That's something of a gamble,
but it certainly paid off! Blueberry Pointe is a beautifully rustic and comfortable B&B with two excellent hosts in Steve and Carolyn. They
will do everything they can to make your stay special and memorable.
There was a nice "congratulations" message waiting for us when we arrived,
and the dishes (Carolyn is a great chef!) we'd mentioned in passing when we
made the reservation were served to us for breakfast during our four days
there. We stayed in the "Moonlight Suite", which is basically the upstairs of the main house--it's wood panelled and very romantic, with windows looking out onto the lake (perfect place for a honeymoon). There's also a downstairs room available in the main house, and two lovely cottages on the property (which seem to get booked early--check availability and make
reservations well in advance...it's worth it!). The property, which is quite secluded while still being close to civilization if you need anything, sits at the shore of a lovely lake, and there is a dock where you can sit or swim from, and also the house has a deck around the entire backside where you can sit and enjoy the view of the sun coming up or going down. We would often sit by the water, enjoying a complimentary glass of wine and soaking up the incredible rural Rhode Island atmosphere.
Steve and Carolyn are friendly, positive people who are there when you need them and who sense when you want to chat, but who give you adequate space and privacy. While you are there, it seems like Blueberry Pointe is YOUR house.
We've had more negative than positive experiences with B&B's over the years, but Blueberry Pointe was the perfect B&B experience, and we look forward to going back there again...maybe for the first or second anniversary? We'll have to ask Steve to make us those wonderful Rhode Island "jonnycakes" for breakfast again!
By the way, Max the dog will also help you feel welcome during your stay--
he was at the car door to greet us when we arrived!

We stayed at Blueberry Pointe on the Lake on July 3rd 2005. This was a last minute decision, but believe me, it was one of the best we have ever made. The host was friendly and informative. The tranquility was wonderful. Sitting on the wrap-around deck, the serenity of the lake is too beautiful to put into words. We stayed in the Moonlight Suite. There is another Suite in the Main House and 2 cottages on the property. The breakfast was great. Not enough belly room to taste everything!! We would gladly stay there again. There are kayaks and a canoe to take out on the lake if one wishes. A hot tub for a relaxing soak. What more can you ask for?
