This lovely restaurant has amazed me that I just recently learned it existed! The food is so delicious and menu awesome. The service is the best and will be coming here often!

Best clam chowder I had in New England. Everything on the menu looked so good it was hard to choose.

We had heard of the Casual Inn from several locals in Bristol and had also noticed the restaurant while we were touring the neighborhoods.
The interior is certainly relaxed, or, as the sign says, casual. The food is varied but definitely has a Portuguese accent... a nice twist to our more familiar Italian dishes.
A pasta with a chorizo bolognese sauce was tangy and quite tasty. The stuffed scrod was loaded with chunks of crab,,etc.
The interior was spotless and from where we sat we could catch glimpses of the kitchen which also appeared very clean and very well run. After all, the chef is also the owner and she makes sure every dish meets her high standards.
The staff on our night was all family: mom, the owner/chef, daughter the manager and our waitress was the sister. And everybody was smiling!
We were told that during the school year students are sometimes hired as staff. That may have accounted for a particular server to be a bit confused as was described by another reviewer. This was certainly not our experience.
Prices were reasonable. Portions were generous. Atmosphere was like being with family...if you love your family!
We'll be going back - again and again.

Server was not knowledgable and not in command of the experience they were attempting to provide. Server frequently returned to the table to clarify the order or follow up on Un-addressed questions. The quality of our food was 50/50. At a table of 4 two entrees of our entrees were acceptable. When the dinner course was served all 9 plates were brought out individually, so one person had their meal and 5 minutes later, plate by plate the dinner course was complete. Now, I am a server myself at a high rated restaurant and understand this place is not in the same league and I don't hold that as a grudge, however, while I understand that this is the "Casual" Inn, it shouldn't be SLOPPY. Maybe it is for the locals or great for a fried plate of miscellaneous seafood and a beer but definitely not the place to entertain friends, family or clientele. Beautiful atmosphere building. Staff needs polish, food needs improvement. Who said this was a Portuguese restaurant? Throwing chorizo in everything doesn't make it Portuguese and the Italian section doesn't make it such either. Mejora la calidad de todo.

This is a small, tucked away, restaurant in Bristol that has some great dishes. Their clam boil is out-of-this-world good. It comes in a small pot and always turns heads when it is being delivered. Lots of other great choices as well, including Portuguese and American favorites.
