This is my third time eating at the HourGlass. I had the venison paired with and Argentine wine…..exquisite and the service was superb! Can't wait to go back again!

Wow, what a lovely find this place was. We wandered in based on other TA recommendations. It was Restaurant Week in Newport and this spot did not disappoint. Starters of a lovely borscht with a drop of dill oil, then the most light, creative beet salad we had ever had. I enjoyed the fried black bass with yummy kale chips and melt in your mouth fingerlIng potatoes. My partners in crime had pork three ways and he lingered over every bite. A palate cleanser of apple cider with a tasty froth came in between. Finale of baked Alaska and Rice pudding, that sound so dull in English and so heavenly in French. We had a lively discussion with the chef and enjoyed the wait staff. My only complaint was the lack of my favorite gin, which really was not worth even a the waste of a sentence. If you go no where else for Restaurant week stop here. and by all means it is worth the trip any time. our palate craves a return to the Hourglass Brassiere

We have had many family gatherings at the Hourglass Brasserie in Bristol, Rhode Island since its opening and Chef Ahmed's fine cuisine continues to delight the eye and impress the palate. We were there for his introduction of the James Beard scallop appetizer – what a treat! The staff at the Hourglass takes the time to explain the intricacies of each perfectly spaced course, allowing us time to enjoy the fine food, the wine, and the conversation in a perfect setting.

First impressions are important. We were greeted professionally, introduced to our server and it kept getting better. We both chose the Chef's tasting menu, a four course work of culinary art. Our server explained each selection in such great detail we began to enjoy the tastings before a taste. Everything was wonderful, but some favorites included the mushroom risotto and the duck entre. The chef made it a point to visit each table with an introduction and inquiry of our satisfaction. We will visit again.

Hourglass is an extraordinary dining experience and on par with some of the finest restaurants we have dined at in Boston and New York. The wait staff was attentive and knowledgeable and provided fabulous service. The food was carefully prepared and presented, using fresh, sustainable, local ingredients. This is one restaurant that will be on our list of 'favorites'.
