Crimson American Grill has beautiful decor, average food, and average to below-average service. If you're heading there for sandwiches or salads, the pricing runs fairly standard for the industry, but if you are seeking an entree, the pricing is high for the actual product you get. Appetizers ($8-10 average) and bar drinks ($6-9 average) are great quality, but the entrees seem to run more along diner-quality as opposed to the upscale presentation/taste you would expect on the pricing at average $15-24 per item. Just blah and bland. Perhaps the sandwiches would be a better choice. The restaurant appears to be very clean, and the color scheme and overall decor is classy. We had an "OK" visit here, but won't be returning...

Never had a bad experience here. Great seafood and steak combos. Excellent desert tray and great atmosphere. Our favorite place to go.

The food taste and presentation is good. Service has always been good. The dining room accoustics are poor. Tables are a little cramped together. Not very cozy. I do like the round tables for groups of 6-8.

We finally decided to try out the remake of Chapps on the Hill. Great service and a very warm and inviting atmosphere will bring us back. Not so sure about the food so far- though our burger tasted good it was more rare than medium rare. Tony, our server with a ready smile and experience in the kitchen to boot, offered to redo it but we felt we had consumed enough of of burgers to just finish it out.

We were impressed on several counts; first the service, the layout of the booths, open seating and patio (we chose the bar/patio side). Beware non-smokers, the patio while nice was a smokers paradise. I'd like to be able to enjoy al fresco dining but not surrounded by smokers! The beer selection suited our tastes in microbrews - Brooklyn Brown Ale and 2 pumpkin ales to choose from!

We'll be back to check out the dinner menu. Tony said the specialties of the house are the steaks and crab cakes since the owner is still the same and the Hill was known for great crab cakes! Check the website for the Happy Hour specials which include Monday 1/2 off appetizers.

My friends and I love visiting Crimson for our lunch break. I've seen some of the other (not so glowing) reviews, but we've never had a bad experience. Our waiters are always attentive, the food is good, and we always have plenty of time. I highly recommend the outdoor patio if the weather is nice; it's the perfect break from work.
