Description: Maewyn's, located at 110 North George Street in Downtown York is an Irish pub and eatery - featuring traditional Irish fare as well as American cuisine. There are over 20 draught beers and a large selection of bottled beers. We take great pride in pouring "The Perfect Pint" of Guinness!

Maewyn's had a very comfortable neighborhood feel. The food was Irish with a twist. It was superb. Very friendly staff and service was great.

We had a reservation for 5:15 and upon arrival we noticed that we were the first customers of the evening in the dining room. Our host seated us at the table nearest the bathrooms, where people continually tripped over my husband as they rounded the corner! We asked for a new table when our server finally arrived, after nearly ten minutes. Our drink order took quite a while, despite the lack of other customers. We ordered dinner and, quickly, my salad arrived. Before I was halfway through, our food arrived. My fish and chips arrived in a bowl with french fries laying under the piece of fried fish. The fries were undercooked and soggy by the time I could get to them. My husband ordered the bouillabaisse, which was basically a seafood soup. Very small portion for the price that was charged. Our server finally checked on us when our drinks were gone and we had been waiting. She merely asked if we were ready for the check - no inquiry about dessert or coffee. We watched the manager speak to every other table except us. We were there for an hour and a half and the service was terrible! We would have requested to speak with the manager, but we were attending a concert at the Strand and needed to leave. We also watched another couple move to another table because the air conditioning above them was leaking onto their table. We will not be rushing to return!

Dinner at this Irish Pub and we were treated to live folk music from a few different bands. They also have sample beer tasting of 5 beers for $9.99. The glasses of beer are probably 4 ounces, not the usual "a few sips" so it was more than adequate for two people. It was nice to be able to try a few different beers. Food was very tasty and had some Irish fare as well. More than adequate portions. Nice service; there is a bar as well as booths and tables. Nice, friendly, easy laid back atmosphere.

The brunch is very nice, however customer service is not very prompt and not attentive. Our son entered the restaurant and stood by the bar for over 10 minutes just to find the bartender to order a diet pepsi to be told he had to find a server, he only served those sitting at the bar. There were no servers on the 'floor' during that 10 minuted time, and I had already asked to omlette chef if he could assist to no avail. The others in our party had ordered coffee and ice tea, which is extra, and not a problem, but in order to get refills on the drinks, I had to find a server and ask to have more coffee and ice tea, after getting up to ask, we got refills that one time, but it was not offered again. Our son went and got a pepsi from his car and choose not to eat anything, which resulted in loss of business, due to loss of customer service, our suggestion is that the bartender give the young man, his diet pepsi and ask the server to add it to the bill the next time, if there is a next time...The bill had our son listed as a full buffet, which I had to inform them, he had nothing from the establishment.
We do realize a buffet is serve yourself, but the servers were not at all attentive and lacked quality communications and customer service skills.

Was on the way to another restaraunt that was a bit to fancy for our current attire. Food was anything but standard pub fare. The experience was so good we went back for brunch the next day and had another great meal.
MAC & cheese, chicken sandwich, brisket with bushmill sauce. Sampler of beers. Next day brunch with applewood bacon sausages and fresh omelettes
