“Better than the Hampton Inn nearby, but not by much”
Reviewed October 17, 2012

Stayed here for just 1 night. The room was OK, but nothing memorable. SpringHill Suites usually have an eating area and this was no different. But the room is somewhat old and dated. Lighting, counters, and fixtures in the bath and "kitchen" are all OK, but older. Counters are still laminate where many hotels have upgraded to stone or simliar. Breakfast was pretty basic. Exercise room was good for this class of hotel. I've stayed at the Hampton Inn near by a few times and I'd pick the SpringHill over it, but its not a place I'd be excited to stay at. It is convenient to the freeway, but still quiet. I don't remember hearing any freeway noise. Fairly expensive for this class of hotel, but maybe that's all of the Philly area.

We stayed at this hotel with several other family members on the occasion of a family event in the northeast suburbs. This is an easy location for "out-of-towners" with easy access from highways, and to shops and restaurants. The hotel placed us in adjacent rooms or in the same stack of rooms, so we could visit easily. The only drawback is the breakfast area seems to be sized for weekday business customers, so we adapted by taking breakfast to our rooms where there is plenty of space to eat.

Room Tip: End rooms are the most quiet and near stairwells.

I had a kind of triangular room, which I found much more interesting than the usual "box." There was a separate office/kitchen area, and a couch. Hard to see the TV from the desk, but nice from the couch or bed. Nicer decoration than typical Marriott - glass shower, granite, etc. I did not use the exercise area. At $199 plus $15 tax, this was more expensive than the usual Marriotts I stay at around the US.

Our trip to the Hudson River Valley was winding down and our last stop would be in Willow Grove. We were pleased with the tucked away location and the very accommodating staff.
the room was clean, the access was easy-perfect after a long day of driving in the rain.
Breakfast was Ok. Would stay again and get up earlier for the breakfast before traveling on.

Room Tip: Get a room away from the doors. This seemed to be the most convenient place for smokers to light up...

I stayed here while visiting my daughter who lives nearby. The location was really convenient. Hotel was clean, people who worked there were very nice. Bed was nice. The work out room was very adequate. The breakfast buffet had a lot of things. I was very happy with my stay here. Would definitely come here again.

I have stayed here twice so it is not just a one time fluke. I will never stay here again. The biggest reason is the sheets. They do not use fitted bottom sheets on the beds. They use flat sheets that do not even come to the foot of the bed. When I complained about it, they sent a maid up and she remade the bed, with the exact same type of sheet. When I asked her about, she said that was all they have. This leaves your feet on the mattress protector where everyone else's bare feet have been.

There are four floors and 155 rooms and ONE elevator to access the lobby so expect a long wait. The complementary breakfast is right out of the 1990's with meager selection and cheap food.

I am a Marriott Platinum Plus member so I have stayed in a lot of hotels over the years. I love Marriotts and I have stayed in some very nice Springhill Suites. This certainly isn't one of them. Next time business brings me to the area I will stay at the Hampton Inn.

Room Tip: Check the bottom sheets on the beds in any room. If they are not fitted you may wake up with your f...

This was our team's second stay at this property, and this time, there were actually 2 teams from our club onsite. They were great to deal with when booking for a group, tho interestingly, each team was given a different rate and contract conditions. The biggest issue with the property was a pretty profound smoke smell in several of the rooms. Some families complained and were moved without question, and that was appreciated.
Rooms are large with 2 doubles or a king bed and a pull-out sofa. I did have to call for bedding, and they iniitally brought only sheets, so i asked for a blanket as well. Rooms have refrigerators and microwaves, which is great for multiple night stays and keeping leftovers. Speaking of leftovers, the BEST part about the hotel was their recommendation to eat at Pasta Fazool, a VERY unassuming (right next to the in and out market and pepperidge farm outlet!) but FANTASTIC italian restaurant quite near the hotel. Drive RIGHT past Carrabas to get there! (We ate at carrabas with a group on our last stay, and it was chaos) Pasta Fazool portion sizes (except for the ravioli, which is small) are INSANE and the food is DELICIOUS! We went with about 20 people and they were excellent at accomodating us. They split meals (and there was MORE than enough for each person) and checks without question, and everyone enjoyed everything. It IS BYOB, which we did, and the fabulous waiter opened our wine and provided glasses for us. GO!!
