“Very long wait and already raised beer prices.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 5, 2014

Seven of us went to Riepstines on a Thursday evening at 6:00. There was also a four top in the small dining room. The server was nice and we ordered our beer off of the large menu of brewed beers. Most of the beers are dark, heavy, strong, or lagers. Since I drink LaBatts or Blue Moon, I opted for a "lighter" beer the waitress recommended and it was like an Amstelle, so I liked it.
The menu is very limited.
A half dozen appetizers and sandwiches, which run from $10.95 to $13.95 for a sandwich and homemade chips. (seasoned with sea salt). I paid $11.95 for a BBQ chicken with onion sticks and prov cheese. Served on a pretzel roll with the homemade chips. It was good, nothing special. The rub is it took almost an hour and a half after we ordered until we got our sandwiches, At the four top next to us three were done eating and the 4th person just got their burger....that took well over an hour also.
Two chicken sandwiches and four beers, the tab was $49 and change. Not counting a tip.
My beef is how long you have to wait to get your dinner.....is that to get you to drink more beer? Most places that brew their own beer also charge less for their beer when patronizing their own establishment. Not Riepstine's Pub, they raised their beer prices right after the story in the local newspaper. Let the restaurants that sell your beer charge more. You shouldn't be charging more at your own Pub. With that being said I gave a 3 star because of how long we had to wait for our food and for the beer prices. With slow, slow kitchen service and expensive beers you might just put yourself out of business. Careful.

“Got to try dinner this time...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 30, 2014 via mobile

The last few times here we had drinks only. This time we had dinner- the menu is small but you'll find something you'll enjoy. The best part is everything is local and fresh! They don't serve old frozen foods. We brought our younger children and they enjoyed it too- they had some new brews ready so we had a sampler and as always truly enjoyed them. The kids got to have local made soda! Just love the food, service and feel of this place! Great small gem!

“Good beer. Food was only ok. ”

Went with my wife. Only ones on the dining room. Staff was fantastic. Some of the best wait staff in town. Beer was genuinely good. Food wasn't so amazing. Very mediocre.

“Pleasantly Surprised…..”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 21, 2014

Saw this place on Trip Advisor and had never heard of it so we decided to check it out. The place is easy to find right in Newberry on Arch Street. The inside looks freshly redone and is perfect. The atmosphere is nice and cozy.

I wanted to sample their beers and they had just the ticket. They have an 8 glass sample tray and since they had 16 microbrews on tap I tried 2 trays to sample them all. Each sample beer was numbered and labeled so you knew what you were drinking. Very nice. Every beer was very drinkable. From their IPA’s to their dark beer to their wheat beer, they were all good. Very smooth.

They also have a bar menu and we tried their homemade potato chips. They were delicious with their dipping sauces.

We will be back. Highly recommended.

“Birthday starter”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 24, 2014 via mobile

We were there to start out our night for my birthday. We both are beer fans so we wanted to sample some since we heard such good things from other beer fans.

We not only enjoyed the different beer- we enjoyed the waiter and just the whole feel of the place. Its small but feels mid-upscale for the area and is clean and nice.
Has a small menu but just enough- we already had other reservations or we would have ordered. We will be back for dinner and beer very soon. Great new place in the area if your a beer fan.
