Owner description: The Community Theatre League (CTL) has been Williamsport's premiere community-based theatre organization since 1976. Occupying its current space since 2000, CTL offers plays, musicals, concerts, student programming, and much more. Opened in 2016, CTL's educational branch, the Community Academy of Stage and Theatre, serves as Williamsport 's best source for all-ages theatre education, summer theatre camps, cross-campus workshops, and vocal lessons. The Jason J. Moyer Studio Theatre, an aditional part of CAST, features more intimate and edgier dramas in its 50-seat theatre as part of it's "Studio Series". CTL and CAST are conveniently located near I-180, U.S. Highway 15, and PA Route 220. During performances, parking is free in the public parking deck directly across the street from CTL.

Community theater League now in Downtown Williamsport, has been in existence for 40 years providing the area with the opportunity for local talent to perform in a wide array of shows. They minimally do 3 musicals, a comedy, a drama every year, and so much more. They also allow other organizations to use their stage for performances of a wide variety, from Uptown Music Collective, to jazz to country-western. And the shows are always first rate, and usually feature new as well as returning talents, and the area is the better for it. Check it out sometime, website is ctl.com, or ctlshows.com. An example is The Music man, coming up this June 2017, for 3 weekends no less, a first, in anticipation of large turnouts. the theater is small, about 260 seats, seats on 3 sides, stage in the middle. That's why i called it intimate. You feel up close and personal to the performance, happening right there in front of you.

CTL presents a variety of entertainment for all ages. They have a main where local talent perform in plays and musicals that are exceptional. They also have a sprouts program that features young people from the area. There are also concerts featuring local groups of all styles. Check out there website for more information.

I attend all sorts of productions at CTL and I have never been disappointed. There is an array of local talent in the community. I've gone to plays, musicals, concerts, Sprouts shows with my grandkids, and they are always a lot of fun. The theatre is nice and the seats are comfortable, and there are really no "bad" seats in the house. I recommend visiting this theatre for a night out.
