I bet you didn't know that Boulder Field at Hickory Run State Park is less than a four mile walk from Split Rock Resort using the powerline and linking up with Stone Trail which leads you right to the historic field. Have seen Deer, Bear, Turkey and a few Rattlesnake's over the years. Fun for the whole family.

“Fun, family place to swim and camp!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 16, 2012

Hickory Run has a lake where my friends, my son and I got together and spent the day there swimming in the lake and picnicked at one of their covered groves that has a charcoal grill. Hickory Run is well-known for their park for swimming and camping. Both sites are clean and there are rules to keep them that way. The campsite is beautiful which is separate, but not far, from the lake. Fun for all ages!!

“Pennsylvania Beauty”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 30, 2012

HRSP has excellent hiking trails. I hiked the entire perimeter (16 m) and all trails are well maintained. When you get to the top (N) section the signage is poor. Other than that, this is an awesome park. The boulder field is well worth seeing and experiencing.

“Outdoor fun”

Rocks, water, trails, snakes - what's not to like? Nice place to go kids kids & dogs. Take a picnic lunch and binoculars - there is a lot of wildlife to see.
