“Wonderful little diner/cafe! Terrific breakfast!”
Reviewed October 10, 2011

I'm usually not big on diners, but for a good home-cooked meal at a reasonable price, the Corner Cafe can't be beat! Big portions of fresh & tasty, no matter what you order. I'm especially fond of their omelettes, full of fresh veggies and local mushrooms. Mmmm! Their French toast is awesome too, made from Hawaiian sweet bread. Corner Cafe originally opened as the Aloha Cafe, and even after the rename, many of the owner's quirky Hawaiian specialties have stayed on the menu (try the pulled pork or Huli Huli chicken, you won't be disappointed! ) The entire staff is sweet and funny, and always make you feel welcome. And on top of everything else, they're easy on the wallet- I can usually get in and out for less than $10. Give them a try!

“A delightful surprise in a nondescript strip mall”
Reviewed July 9, 2011

My husband, daughter and I recently spent five days in the Brandywine Valley area, visiting such well-known places as Longwood Gardens, the Brandywine River Museum, Winterthur, etc.. When we learned one morning that the Dansko shoe outlet was a short drive from our hotel, we decided to take a side trip to check it out before resuming our museum-hopping.
Since we hadn't had breakfast yet, we followed a sign off the highway for the "Corner Cafe", which was at the same exit as the shoe outlet. Rather than a free-standing little restaurant, the Corner Cafe was actually situated in a strip mall along with a supermarket and a few other businesses.
We didn't expect much, but we were hungry and it seemed we were in the middle of nowhere, so we "settled" on this little restaurant.
Upon being seated, we were immediately impressed by the wide variety of omelet fillings on offer. The place was busy, and it seemed like there are a lot of regulars who dine there often.
We each ordered a different omelet, and each one was delicious, well-prepared and reasonable in price. We also appreciated the friendly efficient service, and the clean and attractive decor. We actually liked it better than some of our meals in the more "charming" little places in towns like Kennett Square that are expensive and act like they have the market cornered on "gourmet" food.
We will definitely return there the next time we are in that area of Pennsylvania!
