Sad to say that this Microtel has slipped in quality, and I will look for another place to stay next time I'm in the area. We stayed in a standard room which is small, but meets our needs because we aren't there except in the evening. Earplugs are recommended for light sleepers because you can hear people in adjoining rooms and a diesel truck started up in the parking lot about 2 AM in the morning. The free breakfast is still slightly above average with make your own waffles.
I booked this room via Roon77, which I'd been pretty happy with - until now. Had to upgrade and pay $15 more per night to get a microwave and minifridge - usually common in a standard room. Will not be staying here again.
The toilet clogged…we had to get a plunger from the front desk & unplug the toilet ourselves. The bed linens (sheet, bedspread, comforter, etc.) had holes, they are stained, there were dead bugs in the bed - the beds were extremely hard and we got a mattress cover from the front desk and re-made the bed ourselves and saw the dead bugs on the mattress, there was hair in the tub when we arrived, the electrical outlet was no longer attached to the wall, there was smoke in the room upon arrival, there was smoke in the hall ways the entire time we were there (this is supposed to be a non-smoking facility), and one of the evening staff was extremely rude, to the point of harassing.
