“Trails could be better marked”
Reviewed August 24, 2014

The overlooks at the "primitive" Colton Point park, on the west side of the Pine Creek gorge, have spectacular views, and are easily accessible for anyone. You can drive to within a few dozen yards, and walk a flat path from one spectacular view to another. The hiking trails, in contrast, were difficult to follow. We thought we were following the easy Rim Trail, but found ourselves far from it (we think). We eventually were able to back track to the starting point - the trail was supposed to loop back to that location.

“Great views”
Reviewed August 20, 2014

Drive is a little scary up to the top of the gorge, but well worth the view. We were there at sunset and met a local older man who said he has been coming there for years just for the view.

“Amazing Canyon Beauty”
Reviewed August 18, 2014

We took a great hike on the turkey path. It was slightly difficult because of the roots in the trails and got to seen the Canyon from the top of the east rim. I believe the best views are are from the west rim!

“Private forest”
Reviewed August 5, 2014

We were completely alone on a short hike down to a waterfall and back. Much less "touristy" than the other side, but it is nice too. Great views, isolation--My idea of a good time.
