“Great Visit”

Very scenic and bucolic. A short drive out of Wellsboro, the Park is a quiet peaceful spot which has some of the best scenery in PA.

“Great Views for Vistas”

Watch your signs and be aware that you must be physically fit for some of these trails. Enjoy the views for easy walk-up Vista.

“Breathtaking Beauty!”

Plan a trip to see it if you can. It is well worth the experience. They say the best time is in the fall to see the colors but, believe me, it is worth a trip.

“Busier side of canyon”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 20, 2014

Leonard Harrison State Park is busier than the west side at Colton, with summer camps and more visitors. (We visited both sides of Pine Creek Canyon, and prefer the west side for its variety of hiking options.) The east side at Harrison is more developed, with paved sections and overlooks, viewing machines, concessions (at times). There are beautiful views on this side as well, and a short Overlook Trail to a nice viewpoint. We did part of the Turkey Path (from Pine Creek up to the park--there are stairs and some wood walkways, then switchbacks, or you can start at the park and go down to the rail trail and back up.) The falls were still very nice in June. Well worth a stop, whether for a short view or longer hiking; you can tailor your visit to the time available.
