We enjoyed a quiet dinner at the Penn Wells. This was our first visit to Wellsboro and were pleasantly surprised at the great menu. Service was excellent as well as food. Our group all ordered the broiled salmon which turned out to be an excellent choice. Portion size was just right but no room for dessert...but check the dessert menu......!

When I called to make a reservation for 13, I had to get permission from a restaurant executive. Yet when we arrived on a Friday night at 7:30, only 4 other tables were occupied. By 8:30, we were the only guests. The food here was hit or miss. It took ordering wine 3 times before they actually had a bottle that was listed on the menu. We thought they would be happy to have our business but ended up feeling like we were intruding on the staff's Friday night plans. The live music in the bar was fun though.

Thank you for your visit. We are glad you enjoyed the live music in the lounge. We do this weekly and have had a wonderful response from guests as well as local patrons. Please be assured that we appreciate your business. Our long-standing practice is to have our dining room manager confirm requests for reservations greater than 12. This has been meant to ensure that large groups are scheduled during a time when they can receive attentive service, but we appreciate that this could give the wrong impression if not properly conveyed, and we will consider ways to make this process better for prospective patrons. We do have a large selection of wines and will work harder to keep our entire list stocked and available for our guests’ enjoyment. Again, thank you for dining with us.

This was a must stop in our destination and it didnt disappoint. They offer an omlette station and 2 tables of pastries, baked goods and fruit as well as a chocolate fountain. The wide variety of hot foods was always fresh and our waiter kept our coffee and water filled and table cleaned of plates at all times. A must if your dining in Wellsboro

The hostess seated us promptly in the elegant, old dining room with lots of burgundy on the walls. Nice variety of items including two kinds of potatoes, french toast, scrambled eggs, eggs benedict, pastries and breads, bagels, sausage, fresh fruit, sliced ham, made-to-order omelettes, and a chocolate fondue station complete with pretzes, strawberries, marshmallows, etc. The eggs benedict was very tasty as well as the potatoes, fresh fruit and banana bread. The scrambled eggs tasted like they were cooked the day before and the french toast had too much cinnamon or brown sugar and was very dark in color. The service was prompt and friendly and although we had a reservation, we did not really need one at our arrival time of 10:00 AM. If you are able to eat your fair share of food, this is definitely worth $15 per person.
