stay at a chain hotel & you won't even know what city you're in. check into this wonderfully charming bed & breakfast & enjoy a truly unique stay - you will not be sorry! i found out about this treasure on-line when trying to find accommodations for a wedding in gettysburg - didn't want to break my budget with a room in town so was delighted to discover that this inn is just 30 minutes away & sooooo affordable! i stayed in the wilderness room & really appreciated all the little touches - the home-made headboard made of out branches, a small heater for chilly evenings, ceiling fan for humid mornings, complimentary terry-cloth robes in the bathroom, soft tissues (not those horrible thin scratchy ones you usually get in hotels), a dish of chocolates on my desk, comfy bed with beautiful quilt & a small fridge & micro right outside the room. very happy to see how clean the whole place was! had great chats with other guests over delicious breakfasts (fresh local strawberries - yum!), got very useful advice from the extremely friendly proprietors, enjoyed relaxing in the backyard swing as the fireflies came out to play. murphy the dog will happily share your breakfast bacon & sausage or sit on the swing with you. free, fast wireless & good-sized tv if you can't quite manage to unplug yourself. my hosts couldn't have been nicer - even laundered a shirt i had stained! an amazing bargain - don't miss it!!!

Room Tip: each room has a different theme - check out their website to choose your favorite!

I'm glad that you enjoyed your visit with us! Murphy certainly appreciated those morsels that you sneaked into his diet, too. We hope you will return to visit us again whenever you are in the area. Thank you for choosing Burgundy Lane B&B!

Waynesboro PA is most definitely NOT a "hot spot" for wild, all-night parties. And it's not a town with a lot of historic charm (there's some, just not a lot). It is, however, a perfect place to get away for some relaxation. If that's your goal, you won't do better than this place. Basically, we got four-star service and ambiance for a two-star price.

Although you pay a budget price, this place is about as far from being a "cookie-cutter" budget lodging as can be imagined. Each room has a unique theme to it, with charming additions for each one. We chose the Castle Room, and were greeted with a suit of armor, a sword, a tapestry next to the bath, a faux fireplace, and a painting of a squire being promoted to knighthood. We loved it!

Our room had a wonderful king bed, full bath, phone, clock-radio, refrigerator, microwave, DVD player, hair dryer, and HD-TV with 96 channels. There were portable mini air conditioners that kept the room comfortable but not greatly cool. The room was clean and well-maintained. Free amenities include parking, wi-fi, iron & board, and a hot breakfast. The latter is served by your hosts on fine china at the time of your choosing, and might be all you need to eat for the day (not a buffet, but definitely deliciously filling).

Like most B&Bs, there is no pool, exercise room, or business area. All rooms are on the second floor, and there is no elevator. Smoking is not allowed anywhere inside the B&B.

A minor disclaimer is that the owners have two small dogs on the premises, and both will greet you as you enter. If you have a dog allergy, beware!

The hosts went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Suggestions for places to visit or eat were freely given, and they were knowledgeable about the main reason I came here: hiking the Appalachian Trail. Need help with what to do in the area -- they are all the guides you'll need!

If you want 24-hour parties at the pool, this place (indeed, this whole area) is NOT for you. If you want to get away and relax for a few days (or longer!), then this place can not be beat.

Room Tip: Check their web site for room descriptions.

Thank you for the review. We truly enjoy helping visitors to the area to have a stress-free time in and around Waynesboro. Just as a FYI, Ramona and her dog (Duke) have moved to a place of their own; and old Murphy is the lone canine greeter and companion. Thank you again for taking the time to review us, and we hope you will return to Burgundy Lane B&B if you are back in the area.

We found this place by chance on a Google search. What a gem! Burgundy Lane has 6 charming rooms each carefully decorated to a given theme (we stayed in the "Out of Africa" room). It is owner operated and David and Margaret were attentive, personable and very competent as inkeepers. The food was great and overall my husband and I gave this place top marks. We will definitely return when traveling through the area. If you can go the extra few dollars ask for the honeymoon suite, which has a jacuzzi. The home is right on Main Street and easy to find. The town has several restaurant options.

My husband surprised me with a quick get-a-way to Burgundy Lane. We stayed in the Escape to Africa room. It was so clean and refreshing!!! Breakfast in the morning was delicious. And Murphy (the dog) loves to keep guests company during breakfast. The owners are the sweetest most passionate B&B owners around. We had a complete tour of the place and was told about all the handmade intricate details of each room.

I REALLY enjoyed myself!! AND, the owners recommended dinner at 1912 Hoover House. The dinner was amazing!!!!

My husband and I frequent B&B's and this by far, was one of the best we've been to.
