My fiance and I were visiting friends, so I hopped on betterbidding.com, and did some quick research on hotels in the area. A few clicks later I had an accepted bid from Priceline for $48, or $56 and change with tax. Not bad since the web published rate was $109 plus tax.

The front desk staff was helpful, and the room was exactly what was expected from a Courtyard hotel.

Thanks Courtyard and Priceline!

Have stayed here many times as it is closest to Villanova where my son attends. I have overlooked many housekeeping issues in the past . This visit I decided to comment. We were there for 4 days, the previous guest had smoked and left many butts on the balcony in various water glasses. Each day they cleaned our room and left them all out there for our enjoyment to view. The patio doors had not been cleaned in ages or the balcony swept off. The bathroom had many hairs from prior guests. I have stayed in Marriotts all over the U.S. and never stayed in one where they do not press the sheets or duvet covers. They are all rumpled as if they are not ironed. It just gives a very sloppy appearance. I hear they are renovating the lobby now. They need to upgrade the linens in the room and IRON them. Also they have horrible rollaway beds like the old days that fold in half and you cant sleep on. Nicer hotels always have an actual twin bed on wheels.

Standard Marriott hotel, situated in Wayne, a small town just off the freeway. Convenient for colleges and businesses, most guests were business people. Walkable to the train station to get into Philly centre, also walkable to a few shops (Fed-ex/Kinko's, pharmacy, dry cleaner, hair/nails/spa, banks etc) and restaurants. About 15 mins drive to King of Prussia Mall, although there are hotels closer if that's where you want to go. About 30-45 mins drive from the airport, cost us $75 in a pre-booked cab/limo.

Check-in was efficient. Rooms are on two levels just down a short corridor, with the pool and fitness centre at the end. Good size rooms with standard layout. Slight smell of damp though. Everything was very clean, but the bed linen and towels were extremely creased, which seemed a bit strange. Beds were comfortable and the rooms were very quiet. Fridge and TV worked well, and there's a small shop by reception where you can buy food and cold drinks. There's a coffee maker in the room, and there's also tea, coffee and chocolate free in reception.

The internet in the room was free, which was excellent. There are also a couple of computers and printers next to reception, which were OK for surfing internet and printing boarding passes etc. However, we couldn't get our documents printed here as the computers were running a very old version of Office which wasn't compatible with anything we had despite our best efforts. Had to go to Kinko's to get printouts.

Breakfast was good value (about $10 for American continental), and the choice was reasonable.

Overall, everything was as we expected, absolutely average for this type of hotel. But I must add that the reception staff really went out of their way to help us. They found phone numbers, checked opening times, recommended restaurants, tried to help with the computer issues, organised cabs and limos, sorted out late check-outs - and everything with a smile and a laugh. Full marks for that.

My sisters room was upgraded to a suite, which was very nice as there were 3 of us one night and then 4 on the second night.

The suite offers a separate bedroom with 2 queen size beds (they might be double), with a tv, dresser, nightstand and chair. The living area offers a small sofa bed, 2 chairs, coffee table, dresser, flat screen tv, wet bar with fridge/micro and the sink in the bathroom is separate from the toilet and shower. I personally don't prefer them separate but everything appeared quite clean. (The photos that someone uploaded off to the right are accurate) I think it's also a plus having a patio to sit outside in the nice weather.

I ended up on the sofa bed so that everyone would have their own bed and space. The sofa had seen better days (it looked worn and the cushions a bit caved in). I realize sofa beds are not ideal and this one was just about adequate, but had a lump in the middle.

Lobby: There was always hot water/coffee/decaff etc...available round the clock which was great and is right near the computer area. Although they offer breakfast there is an additional fee (I think it's $10, which is quite steep!)

We used the exercise room twice, which had the latest equipment (2 treadmills, 1 elliptical, 1 recumbent bike and weights). As well as water, towels and sanitary wipes. And my nephews both enjoyed the pool.

There is an Acme shopping center within walking distance so you can always grab something to eat or pickup necessities there.

Sadly, there were some loud guests we could hear slamming doors, banging on the wall during the middle of the night.

It seems all Courtyard Marriotts are very standardized, which is a good thing. I've stayed at a couple others recently, all very similar. The room was very clean and well laid out. This hotel is exactly what I would have expected, not very exotic, but reliably clean and comfortable. The only thing I missed in this Marriott was a place to sit and have a drink in the lobby after coming in in the evening. And additional note for anyone traveling in a wheelchair - accessibility was good. Fold down shower bench in a roll-in shower, nice counter area by the sink. This room had 1 king size bed, and plenty of room to move around. The hotel is near a large mall, and plenty of other restaurants.
