Description: Located just outside Valley Forge National Historical Park, Black Powder Tavern combines local flavors (edible AND sip-able) with American history in a pub-like setting. Warm woods and just-dim-enough lighting add to the tavern feel, enhanced by a reclaimed sawn oak bar with 12-cushioned stools (plus 6 high-tops), materials that are echoed in the dining room and in the flooring. Weeknights feature happy hour from 5-7PM, with a reprise happy hour on Thurs., Fri., and Sat. from 9-10PM. On Sundays, a prix fixe brunch is offered from 10:30AM-2PM, and the big game is always on.The menu features a variety of small and entree-sized plates, and highlights the flavors, ingredients and culinary trends Philadelphia has become known for—and that pair well with our extensive craft beer offerings. If you’re looking for a new favorite burger, you’ve come to the right place; our veal and chicken versions are hearty and flavorful, as is our pork sandwich. You’ll also find several salads and sharable items such as deviled eggs with smoked trout, pork and chicken wings, polenta fries, calamari and more; plus a fresh fish of the day (and of course fish ’n’ chips, cedar plank salmon and chicken marsala. Whether you stop in for lunch, dinner, happy hour or Sunday brunch, there’s something to satisfy your hunger, and your taste buds.Beer enthusiasts should take note: there are 24 brews on tap and 39 bottles. The selection is tweaked regularly, so if you’re looking for something new and special (or old and admired), this is the place to come. There’s plenty to satiate non-drinkers as well, including milkshakes made with Franklin Fountain ice cream—for an added historical touch, of course. This place was a little tricky getting to with the placement of the restaurant on a busy corner. However, the food was great and you got plenty of it. I had a wonderful grilled chicken, cranberry, and walnut salad. It was just wonderful! Service was awesome and the atmosphere was very relaxing. Stopped for lunch on a Saturday, so it wasn't as busy as what the crowd may be in the evening.

Situated off Route 202 and 252 away from the bustle of King of Prussia. The menu is American Cuisine with sufficient variety to please most people. Nicely decorated inside. Pleasant atmosphere. It's a great place to meet folks due to its convenient location. Definitely worth a visit.

A colleague that I see rarely wanted to go to dinner at a place with a variety of entrees and that would be quiet enough to have a pleasant discussion. Winberie's filled this bill. I've been there several times and their food and atmosphere is consistently good. There salads are really good. We decided to split a couple of their "small" desserts. A warning - these are not small We could have split one of them. Their brownie dessert was really good. The creme brulee less so. I had a great salad (which let me have that dessert) as did my friend. We were also able to have a nice conversation. The waitress was really nice - she even knew what the Arnold Palmer drink that my friend ordered was (I hadn't heard of it)! The furnishings of the restaurant is a lot of wood which I really like. Its in an old stone building that probably was a house in past life. Overall, I can always count on a nice time when I go to this restaurant.

It's where you can have a decent cheese fondue without having to go to the Melting Pot. It came with plenty of apples and bread. The calamari was tasty as well and we filled up on apetizers barely touching our entrees. I would return.

Convenient parking brings customers up a ramp into a large airy room with a bar at one end. Hard surfaces reflect lots of background noise. The tables are nicely spaced and they have higher tables near the bar. They provide cloth napkins, but do not use table clothes. In nice weather you can eat outside on the patio.

Staff is attentive, nice but unpolished -- our waiter reached across to remove a plate, with an apology. They checked to see if everything was OK and provided beverage refills without asking.

Food was served from hot to cool, although the plates had been heated. We judged our meals fair to good.

For the price paid (average was $25 each - entree and beverage) a higher level of service and consistency should be expected.
