We were very happy with our stay at the Courtyard in Valley Forge, PA. The hotel was clean and inviting. The bed was probably the most comfortable bed we have ever had at any hotel! SO COMFORTABLE! We had a great night's sleep. We also needed to do a couple loads of laundry and the hotel provides detergent and dryer sheets free of charge...that's a nice perk.
Our room was large and very clean.

  • Liked — The bed was AMAZING! VERY COMFORTABLE!
  • Disliked — You have to pay for breakfast.

Stayed here for one night due to business in their basic room which was a really large twin.
Front of desk staff were very friendly and helpful.
They provide free lemonade/iced tea and hot drinks making facilities in the lobby as well as free fruit
Internet/business facilties great- I ended up setting up office for 2h there and had everything I needed on hand. Free internet a real bonus.
Only downside I could see is lack of restaurant on site (although they have plenty take out menus)

We stayed here for our daughter's first Parents' Weekend at her college, which is a short drive from the property. There are a few choices in the vicinity: we have tried one other and are most concerned with value for cost.

The only thing about the Courtyard properties as opposed to others is that they don't provide a "free" breakfast. Their breakfast buffet is an extra $10 or so per person. Yes, it provides hot food and a normal full breakfast, but if you don't need that, then it's not a plus. We would normally stay at the Comfort Inn/Suites since they have a complementary breakfast, but I understand that the Comfort Inns (not Suites) in general are going through a major overhall and it might be awhile before they are up to par with the Courtyard.

I would, however, choose to stay here again for future trips to her college since it is fairly close to her school, not that far from the airport, and if we can get a good room rate, then why not?

It is also spitting distance to the large King of Prussia mall, so if that is a consideration, it is a good choice. Many restaurants/anchor stores in the area for those who are outfitting their college students.

I stayed at this hotel during a week-long training session for work. I picked it primarily because I don't like the Radisson connected with the convention center. Overall this Courtyard is relatively similar to others. Highlights were the clean and larger than usual room, and the friendly service from the front desk and breakfast servers. Also, the hotel is less than 5 minutes from both the Valley Forge Convention Center and the King of Prussia mall. On the negative side, the hotel is close to the highway and my room had a low level of noise throughout the night (it wasn't awful, just present). My room was on the outside facing the highway so perhaps an inside room or one on the south side (towards Swedesford Rd.) would be better. The main thing that was difficult with the hotel was that it does not have wireless internet service and the cord set up was not the easiest to figure out. The internet service was free however.

This hotel is just barely ok. The room that we were in smelled of urine, the bathroom floor was dirty, the curtains were stained. This was the only room that was a suite with a king bed that was ready, (after waiting at least an hour for the room to be "cleaned" ), so we decided to deal with the smell.
This hotel is not child friendly. We drove to this hotel and after a 3 hour drive the room was not ready, we needed to change my infant daughter and realized that there was no changing table in the bathroom. We then went back to the front desk and the woman at the desk told us, sorry this hotel was made mainly for business travelers...she then suggested that I change my child on the bathroom floor...Never...For the price that we paid for this room, they could have included breakfast....this hotel was not worth what we paid, and it was out of the way from where we wanted to go. Next time we will try the Radisson.

  • Liked — Nothing
  • Disliked — The dirty room and the fact that the hotel was so out of the way

I had a wonderful four night stay at the Courtyard by Marriott Valley Forge. Having stayed at both this hotel and the Crowne Plaza, (which is quite a bit more expensive) I would recommend staying at the Courtyard in the future. Both properties are now all smoke-free, a definite plus, and are very close to the King of Prussia Mall if you so desire. The Courtyard is much quieter however, and has a better breakfast buffet. The beds are very comfortable and the front desk was most accommodating. Everything was quite clean and tidy. I would say 3+ to 4 stars. Very nice indeed.
I will surely stay here again.

  • Liked — Clean and friendly. Good location.
  • Disliked — Slighlty pricey but typical of the area.

Well, our day began with a smallish nightmare. We wanted to take the kids to Valley Forge, my husband suggested we stay the night somewhere inexpensive, and I initially booked the Sleep Inn in that vicinity via Expedia. Our biggest criteria was that the hotel have an indoor pool for our young children. Well, long story short, we got to the Sleep Inn and there is a big sign at the check-in desk stating the pool is under renovations, sorry for the inconvenience. My kids were ready to cry, since we had promised a pool. I called Expedia and after a lot of back and forth, they could not cancel our nonrefundable rate (even though the pool closing was NOT posted on the main page of Sleep Inn's listing with Expedia), but they were willing to offer me $75 towards another hotel. Since Sleep Inn was only costing $81, I took it as a minor loss and looked on their website and booked this Courtyard (which was $109, but well worth the extra dollars.) By the way, I do NOT fault Sleep Inn for what happened - this was clearly Expedia's mistake. Regardless, the Courtyard ended up being a great choice!

Check-in was a breeze, reception was very friendly and efficient. Our room, #179, was large with two double beds. Everything was clean. Bathroom was good size, typical Courtyard style (cermaic tile with sink/vanity outside the actual bathroom.) Big work desk and a large overchair. The rooms must have been renovated in recent history as things did not look worn at all.

The indoor pool was excellent. Exceptionally clean and there is a very nice hot tub as well. It is located in a sunlit atrium and we had a ball with the kids. Plenty of clean towels as well.

We ordered dinner from a local Jewish deli (Michael's.) Food was very good and they delivered poolside - it was a nice and relaxing casual meal.

We did not eat breakfast at the hotel - chose to eat elsewhere. Nonetheless, the buffet seemed fairly priced at $10/pp. There is free coffee in the lobby in the mornings and a little market next to the check-in desk where you can purchase juices, snacks, water, etc...

Parking was free and easy. This is a great hotel near Valley Forge/King of Prussia area.

Here's the clincher for service - my husband left behind his charger cord for his razor. I called and expected nothing...and the hotel's housekeeping department was able to locate it without issue and are mailing it back to us. That really said something to me that this is a very well-run hotel.

Would I stay here again? In a minute. Highly recommended.
