“Excellent Food & Drinks”
Reviewed November 17, 2012

Palazzo 1837 specializes in old-fashioned Northern and Southern Italian dishes, steaks, seafood, pasta, chicken, and veal. Its worth the drive from Pittsburgh at the corner past the Meadowlands Horse Track. We have eaten here a number of times and the food and service are always excellent. And don't forget the drinks which are always excellent too.

“The usual spot!!!”
Reviewed August 30, 2012

I have been here 3x when I stay in the area for work. The food is excellent, and the specials are always something unique and not just a run of the mill special. The specialty drinks are made from fresh squeezed fruit, done in front of you…If you are still at the bar. Prices are fair, not out of the ordinary for higher quality food. I have always eaten at the bar/bar area and have had excellent service. This is a regular stop on my travels.

“Pleasant but Pretty Pricey”
Reviewed July 27, 2012

Well appointed old home. Attentive service. Pleasant food. Crape Lasagna a light treat. The additional side of sausage was surprisingly cut-up and incorporated into the sauce. Both the chicken and veal marsala were just O.K. somewhat flat wanting a brightening from wine or balsamic vinegar.
With only one glass of house wine, no appetizers and no desserts the $140 bill seemed excessive for a meal which did not scream excellence.
Approach with cautious reservation.

“Refined, quiet, delicious, fantastic!”
Reviewed May 18, 2012

A fabulous experience. I wish we'd found Palazzo 1837 sooner in our three day business trip to Washington, PA. After suffering through an "eat-from-the-trough" experience at Texas Roadhouse, Palazzo 1837 was a haven of quiet class and truly delicious food. My husband declared the chicken parmesan the best he has ever had (and he's sampled his favorite Italian dish at restaurants all over the country). I had an outstanding warm balsamic chicken salad that kept having me say, "This is absolutely delicious!" repetitively during our leisurely lunch. We finished with the Nutella pie, which was good but had us wishing we'd ordered our second choice of the pecan ice cream balls. Frank Sinatra was crooning softly in the background and the service was refined and attentive. What a lovely way to concluded our visit to Washington. If only we'd started at Palazzo 1837!
