Went with family for a nice dinner. I ordered the Elk and Lamb Chops while family members ordered veal and seafood. Salads came with meal and were nice. My order came and presentation was very good on warm plates. Temperature was excellent but went down him from there. Granted I asked for rare but that was my mistake. The Elk was nice but the lamb chops were tough and only cooked on one side- very disappointing. One sued was nicely grilled while the other side looked like the hot plate gave it color- worst lamb chops ever. The garlic potatoes were bland with a large chunk of under cooked garlic. The Demi glaze was nice. While they state they are known for their exotic meat dishes I should have had the veal or seafood as their dishes were very good. The atmosphere is very nice but the wait staff needs some work. Our waiter was hard to find at the end of the meal and we had to track him down for the check. All in all stay with the tried and true Italian and not the game dishes.

We have been to Villa Barolo countless times, and our more recent visit was just as every visit. The restaurant boast an impressive menu with some gamy options you're not likely to find anywhere else locally. The risotto has become a staple but we truly never had a bad meal there.
The restaurant is beautiful and upscale, nice wine selection. Whole fish done table side, lamb, filet, seafood, pastas, I can't think of anything EVER served cold or needing to be sent back!
Service can be spotty at times, and I really don't care for a waiter smelling like cigarette, but overall the staff and very knowledgeable about the menu.

Wide ranging Italian menu with some unique offerings. Great for a holiday meal (reservations required!) or just popping in for happy hour at the bar.

Take out also available.

My only wish is that the bar menu would also be available for take-out, their sandwiches are very tasty.

Staff is always very friendly.

What's the quickest way to cause someone to lose their appetite? Having the waiter lean over you multiple times and stick his armpits in your face. There was only one time this guy walked around the table to hand others their food, but the rest of the time he leaned over several of us or asked us to pass things around. Also, he was very aggressive about clearing plates... even taking away a dish in front of one member of our party while she was still chewing. And when we tried to hand him plates, he basically ripped them out of our hands.

Also, a private party was sectioned off by moving partitions instead of being seated in the area specified for private parties. The noise level was a little overwhelming because of this.

The food was good, but not incredible. When it was Marabella's there was never an issue with service or the food. It was always a great place to go. It's a shame, as the parking lot was full and the restaurant only about halfway so (including the private party.) It was really unclear why the waiter was so brash and hurried.
