“Best Italian food I ever had!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 1, 2012

I could talk forever and still not get my point across. I cannot think of one dish that is anything short of exceptional! I would kill for the garlic bread, and the soups are incredible! The service is great and you always feel like you are part of the family! I only wish that they were out here in AZ instead of UD! (LOL) ... If you want a great dining experience, exceptional food, and an atmosphere that will make you feel warm and welcomed, then make a reservation, grab some spirits on the way, arrive hungry and Bona Cucina WILL NOT disappoint!! Keep up the great work guys!... Shawn

“Should be ranked #1 in Upper Darby”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2012

Because it is. and while Upper Darby is somewhat large in comparison to the surrounding boros and towns, there is not another restaurant that can compare to this. And the reason you need reservations at this cash only establishment.

Make no mistake about it, the neighborhood is not great. But this place has been there so long, it was there before the the township took a turn for the worse.

Once inside you are warmly greeted! The menu is of ample size and not overwhelming. There are usually several specials nightly. The food is some of the best italian you will get anywhere. There is no rushing in this BYO, so allow ample time for dinner. The kitchen is small and orders are prepared to order.

Very small restaurant with very good itian food & prices are reasonable. One of the few left that still serves salad & side with meal. Could use some interior updating

“The best BYOB I've ever been to!”

Food is amazing, service is great and atmosphere is fantastic! You couldn't ask for anything more in a reasonably-priced BYOB.

“Not as good as it used to be”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 20, 2011

We have noticed a downhill progression the last few times we've eaten at Bona Cucina. The specials are usually too heavy on the sauce - overpowering the entire entree contained in a small dish; the caprese salad - instead of sliced mozzarella, they had the balls with very little basil and a dressing that tasted like it came from a bottle; the two shrimp dishes - while the shrimp were a nice size, there was a faint taste/smell of amonia (which I understand is what happens when shrimp starts to thaw and is then re-frozen).
On the other hand, the pastas are always consistent and a sure bet. We will give it one more chance and hope for improvement.
