“Super place for a date. Especially on Superbowl Sunday!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 17, 2012

Where do you go for a drink on Superbowl Sunday if you are not, (perish the thought), a football fan? We picked the Indian Rock Inn and it was a touchdown for us! The bar there is not a sports bar. No blaring TV and no screaming and groaning patrons for us to share our “date time” with. Instead we had a perfect outing with good drinks, a good meal, good conversation, and great music. The music being played that day was, I believe, by The Irish Kings. Nice sound. We had our dinner at the bar and enjoyed getting the history of the Inn and its previous owners from Chris the bartender. The current owner also stopped by and visited for a few minutes. Nice.

Our food arrived promptly and we both thought the onion soup was the best we had ever eaten. I had the asparagus in puff pastry for an appetizer. It was a different and delicious way of getting my veggies. My husband’s steak was cooked perfectly and my Greek salad was fresh and flavorful. All in all, a good time was had and we will return again soon.

“Where else could you watch the sun set over New Jersey”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 23, 2011

The is a social gathering every night on the front porch to watch the sunset over New Jersey. That's right!. Due to a sharp turn in the Delaware River, you are actually looking west. You can have drinks on the porch, or eat in the bar or two lovely dining rooms. One dining room overlooks the canal and the other has a fireplace. The food is freshly prepard but a little slow on the service.I suggest the daily specials. My LDC ordered the salmon which was old and smelly. It was quickly replaced by a tuscan tuna an a complimentary glass of wine.My dinner was a panko encrusted portk tenderloin with a apricot wasabe dressing. YUM.

“Still the Same”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 21, 2011

This place food wise is always fantastic and it's a pity that on the dining side they do what appears to be so little business.

On a recent Friday visit the bar was packed both inside and out but the dining room was empty with the exception of one other couple.

We got the Pecan Encrusted Salmon and the Chateau Filet and both were great as usual.

It's true that to some a major issue with coming is that because everything is cooked to order it can take a while for food to come out of the kitchen. So What! It's really that good and it's that consistent.

Would you rather have some microwaved Buca di Beppo slop or food that actually tastes like it should?

The atmosphere here is very low key and it is not overly pretentious like other restaurants and inns on River Road.

If you've got the time to give, you will get a decent meal at the Indian Rock for a fair price that you won't forget.

“The Wow Factor”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 18, 2011

Every dining experience for us contains "The wow factor". The first wow is the menu and the selections here are wondrous. Eating in the bar combines the best of both worlds. You may order from either the dining room menu or the bar menu. When the food matches or exceeds the expectation of the menu. Absolument! The "French Onion Soup Boulder Style" was the best onion I've ever eaten. The escargot was a stunner. Chef Val is passionate about his art. Nothing at Indian Rock is food service stuff. Scratch is the order of the day including desserts which leads me to our third wow. Try the lavender or chocolate cherry cheesecake with a cup of their locally roasted coffee. Chef Val does all his own baking. Truly an amazing find! We stumbled upon gold on Route 32 in Upper Black Eddy PA.
