Friendly home town atmosphere. Owners are there to greet you with a friendly smile and are truly glad you stopped by for a great cup of coffee and a chat with the locals. Smells good, feels good, looks good. Great walking trail right out the back door along the canal.

“Love this place...”

I stopped at the Homestead General Store every morning before work when I lived in Upper Black Eddy... now that I've moved down to Tinicum Twp., it's not on the way anymore, and I really miss the coffee. They almost always have several options including Black Eddy's Darkness, River Blend, and Steady Eddy (decaf) in addition to the seasonal flavored selection - some of my favorites are the Blueberry Crumble in summer, Autumn Spice in the fall, and Jingle Java in the winter.... They sell their coffee in bulk, in addition to fresh brewed by the cup.

Other attractions at the Homestead? Local jams, snack mixes, and baked goods, locally made jewelry, and books about the area and attractions by local authors.

Homestead also has a deli with a small eating area inside, in addition to eating areas on the back patio next to the canal. I haven't tried much of the food at the Homestead because I religiously order a BLT on a Kaiser roll... no matter what time of year, the tomatoes are tastey!! I was thoroughly impressed the first time I ordered a BLT in the middle of winter... the tomato was so yummy, I had to call them to find out where they their unusually ripe and delicious tomato at that time of year.

Great little general store with very friendly staff :)
