Our 13th visit at the Inne at Watson's Choice. We were one of Bill and Nancy'sfirst guests the year they opened and it gets better every time. We attend a religious pilgrimage in Uniontown about 5 miles from the inne. The rooms are cozy and immaculate. The breakfasts are abundant and delicious---all made with local /farm ingredients. Bill and Nancy are terriffic about recommendations for sightseeing and dining. We will never stay anywhere else while in the area.

This Bed and Breakfast stay was wonderful. Our room, the Pineapple Room, was just as expected and described on the website. There is no TV in the room, so if that is a requirement, this is not the room for you. The fireplace added some much needed heat and coziness. The hosts gave us helpful directions and information on places to eat. Breakfast was delicious, and more filling than we've had at other BnB's. On our next trip to this area, we plan to stay at Watson's Choice again.

Our two-night stay at Watson’s Choice was for attendance to the easily accessible Frank Lloyd Wright attractions Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob. If you are attending for this purpose, make sure that you check the Watson's Choice website as, in addition to your nightly room charge, they have a nice package available for admission and reservations to these two places. The extra package also includes a lovely wine and cheese/fruit ‘welcome gift’ and a fifty-dollar certificate to one of two nice restaurants.
This is a beautiful Inn in a lovely location and the breakfast is fantastic.
There are earlier reviews here that talk about Nancy being stand-offish (upon guest arrival) and we experienced the same feeling.
Of particular disappointment and very disconcerting for us was the fact that you are not allowed to open the windows in your room! They are 'wired to 9-1-1 for security purposes' as Nancy seemingly proudly announces.
Imagine being there for two beautiful nights in August with lovely cool breezes and being cooped up in a stuffy room. In addition to feeling claustrophobic, you are required to call and ask for any adjustment in temperature for your room. After a warm and stuffy first night, Bill agreed to turn down the temp a few degrees for our second night. It never happened.
As we departed, I spoke to Bill about the window issue and he told me that it had to do with the non-smoking issues...people who say they won't but do anyway. If these folks are that untrusting (and that’s how we felt), maybe they should install extra-sensitive smoke detectors.
Make no mistake, it is a beautiful place and if you don’t mind being hermetically sealed in your room, you will love it. We wouldn't return however, for this very reason. It seems counter-productive; you've travelled a great distance to a beautiful country retreat and you can't fully enjoy the country!

In general our stay at the Inne at Watson's Choice was lovely. We actually stayed in the annex, Harvest House. Rooms were smaller than expected but beds were comfortable and there were nice chairs and plenty of light to sit in the room and read. The outdoor sitting areas were wonderful. The location was OK but a little disconcerting when first arriving as you drive through a commercial area...car sales and stone distribution facility only a short distance from the Inne. The grounds of the Inne are more than 15 acres so you really are not bothered by the neighbors. Our room and the common areas were very clean and well-kept.

A few nits... sheets were of poor quality, as was the toilet paper, and the shower was a cheap, plastic pre-molded unit that had no light. It was very dark in the shower. They were not equal to what we have experienced in other B&B's of similiar price.

We thought that the hospitality at a bed and breakfast, particularly at a pricey one, was supposed to make you feel like family. We did feel like family, but family of the wrong sort: poor cousins mooching an uninvited stay, or surly jobless teenagers coming back from college.

Our host Bill was perfectly pleasant, but our hostess Nancy welcomed us with a stern lecture on the rules. No smoking, no bubblebath, no opening the windows (it turned out the AC was broken too) turn off the lights when you leave, doors locked at midnight, and absolutely no smoking (even though we already said we didn't smoke the first time). We asked if there were times she would like us to be out of the room for housekeeping, and she told us to read the rulebook she left. We asked if she could recommend some things to do in the area and she told us to look at their website. We asked about the county fair we had seen advertised and she scoffed at our interest and told us it was already over, even though it still had two days to go. We found pamphlets for a local winery with an out of date calendar of events and asked if she had any that were up to date. She suggested that we call the winery. We apologized after arriving 15 minutes late for breakfast and it was not entirely clear whether she was joking when she suggested that we make up for it by helping to clean the dishes. After asking the host's permission we fed some apples to the cows at the neighboring farm, and when she found out she scolded us because she heard of a cow that died after eating a bushel of apples.

We thought that our age (25) might have had something to do with it, but another pair of retirement age guests described her as "intense" and one guest was annoyed that she would not permit him to smoke a cigar even at the furthest end of the garden.

The facility was very nice, especially the garden, but our hostess's behavior sucked all the romance out of our anniversary weekend. We headed out for our daily adventures tense and fuming and snuck back in anxiously hoping not to be seen. We half expected to hear her knock at the door at night to check that us kids weren't getting up to anything inappropriate in the bridal suite, and the mood was spoiled so effectively that we didn't.

I can imagine a stay at the Inne at Watson's Choice being very pleasant, but ours wasn't.

Great little hideaway just outside of Uniontown, PA. Great rooms, all with private bath and wonderful porches where you can rock in their rocking chairs and let it all go by. Beds were more than comfortable. Breakfast was tasty and made a great start to the day.

About a half hour from Fallingwater... the Frank Lloyd Wright house built in the late 30's.

We stayed in the Pineapple Room... It was smaller than we thought but it was nice and clean. We had asked to have wine and cheese upon our arrival... the cheap rose wine came in a cheap ice bucket and the cheese on a plain plate covered in saran wrap. The shower came with a soap dispenser... the same kind you would find in a public bathroom at a rest stop. There was no shampoo and they really skimped on the amenities. And there was a tip envelope for housekeeping... so tacky.

HOWEVER, the grounds were meticulously cared for and were absolutely lovely... down to the rocking chairs on the porch. Breakfast was DELICIOUS. Seriously. Even the continental breakfast was filling and impressive. The room came equipped with guest reviews on restaurants in the area along with their menus which was very helpful. And the Innkeeper gave us a handy map to help us navigate through the town.

Overall, a pleasant experience with a few nits.
