This is a comfortable hotel, comparable to others in the chain. It is clean, the rooms are spacious and it is close to Mount St. Macrina, a popular pilgrimage site for Byzantine Catholics. The hotel does raise its rates when the pilgrimage is in session, which borders on gouging to me, considering those attending

Dear Guest:

Thank you for your reveiw of the Uniontown Fairfield Inn by Marriott. We would have to agree with you regarding our clean and spacious rooms. Our staff works very hard to please each and every guest. It sounds as if you are a loyal Marriott guest, and we appreciate that as well.

As you are probably aware, every destination has it's peak and off-peak periods regarding tourism, and Uniontown is no exception. Our Summer and Fall months from May through October are peak seasons for the Laurel Highlands. Whitewater rafting, outdoor recreation, and many outdoor historical sites, in the Summer months and the beautiful changing leaves in the Fall is what draws travelers to our area during that peak period. Unfortunately, the peak period does encompass the Labor Day Weekend and the Mount St. Macrina Pilgrimage.

Thanks again for your feedback and we look forward to your next stay in Uniontown.

Sincerely,

Lisa A. Malago

We were in town for a basketball tournament in Morgantown. There were no decent hotels left in Morgantown, so we opted to travel a little and stay in Uniontown. Overall, the hotel was fine...it served it's purpose. However, it was further from Morgantown than we realized. The distance didn't bother us as much as the roads we had to travel to and from the events. We thought it would be highway miles, but it was back roads the entire way. During the day, is one thing, but at night, when no one else is on the road, is quite scary. Also, a basketball team checked in that same night and were pretty noisy, so we decided that between the noise and the distance, it wasn't worth staying the extra night.

Thank you for your review of our hotel. We are glad that you chose to stay at our hotel while in Morgantown WV for the basketball tournament. However, we know that the access between Morgantown and Uniontown is quite rural in nature right now. In the not so distant future, the Route 43 Mon-Fayette Expressway will be completed, and will make access much more efficient for those travelers wanting access between Morgantown and Uniontown.

We apologize for the noise caused by the basketball team that checked into our hotel the same night and are sorry the situation caused you to leave our hotel early. We have discussed ways of eliminating these types of situations with our staff and have implemented some new procedures to try to keep it from happening again. We appreciate your important feedback so that we can continue to provide our guests with the great service to which they are accustomed and deserve.

If you should return to the area in the future, please contact me in advance and I can update you on the progress of the Expressway and provide you with information on other attractions you may find interesting in our area.

Sincerely,

Lisa A. Malago

Booked the Fairfield Inn through Priceline (named my own price) and was not disappointed. When we arrived we were told that we had two King rooms, even though the reservation through Priceline said 7 people in two double-queen rooms. It took a few minutes, but we got the kinds of rooms we needed. Location is very accessible and lots of choices of restaurants nearby--Chinese buffet next door was incredibly inexpensive and the food wasn't bad either! Rooms at hotel are nice size and the pool area was good too. Best perk was the breakfast!

Stayed here after leaving "historic" summit inn. They got me in early in the morning - the place is clean - not fancy. The staff was very kind as I had had a major asthma attack and needed to sleep in a clean cool area. They took very good care of me during my stay there. I'd highly recommend this place - it is much cleaner than the 200 dollar a night "historic" summit inn

before traveling from nc to wv, i booked the hotel at a special rate. the desk clerk stated the appropriate documentation could be faxed but after 3 hrs into the trip, the rudest person on the face of the earth, don, called and said it was our problem and he nor the gm would honor a faxed copy. he said they didn't have time for us or our problem!! i was appauled and disappointed with this mgmt team! later ,the vp called and extended the special rate for the entire weekend but at that point, it wasn't about the rate anymore and we declined to stay there at ANY rate!! on a lighter note, becky at the ffi fairmont is AWESOME!!!!

What a nightmare! This hotel was booked and PAID FOR thru Priceline. Upon arrival we were told that we would need to pay cash.. more than twice the amount of the original reservation.. because Priceline had not sent them the documentation they require. NOT OUR PROBLEM!!! The staff was NOT helpful, nor pleasant. We were kept in the lobby for more than 30 minutes before we finally paid with cash at the rack rate. NEVER AGAIN!! Will not use Priceline or stay at another Marriot property. We were here to attend a funeral for our parent and did NOT need this rudeness, aggravation or embarrassment. It was an absolute NIGHTMARE!
