however, the windows in the cupola need to be able to be closed from light. We stayed in a caboose that was next to a parking light which was on all night. Our room was was lit up all night despite all our indoor lights being off. Not conducive to getting a good nights rest.

I am sure each caboose is decorated separate. We stayed in 2 it had two twin beds stuck together and was a king, but it was very separated and was two twin mattress. No flat screen tv in this unit but it was a tv. very very basic furniture and not what I expected. I would stay again just for the charm of the area and the great hotel staff. We went to the dinner on the train and it was just wonderful to get off and walk to our caboose. Great area to sit out and enjoy a evening drink and relax! It was clean and smelled fresh, but no extras but its a caboose and that is just original!

Room Tip: just ask for a update caboose,

My grandson and I spent two nights here, and he LOVED it. We had booked a trip with a local coach line, and it was cancelled. Being the doting grandmother that I am, I decided that we would drive up (Pittsburgh area), and spend two nights instead of the original one night offered by the coach company. We went up two years ago, and he STILL says it was his best vacation ever. P.S. he was 15 years old at the time. I've taken him to Air & Space in D.C., Niagara Falls, Ontario, and various other train venues; but this place is the one that is #1 in his evaluation. We had a caboose with 2 double beds, and we loved it. Although it is a small town, we found things to do! The train ride is spectacular, and he loved browsing through the station.

Who wouldn't love to stay the night in an old caboose? Even those of you who are non-train fanatics will surely agree that the OC&T Caboose Motel provides good accommodations. From the outside, I was skeptical that my room (the old Nickel Plate Road caboose) would be able to comfortably fit a queen sized bed, but I was very very surprised at how spacious it was---including the bathroom (there was a shower stall instead of a tub, but who takes baths in hotels, anyway?). I'm not a TV watcher, but the flat screen TV was mounted high up on the wall across from the bed, which may be a bit too high for some.
My caboose was well insulated for sound, and I slept like a baby. I will definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: Cabooses with "observation" windows on the roof will let in morning sunlight. So if you w...

The Caboose Motel makes a nice change from the usual Mom and Pop experience. We stayed in #1008, an ex-New York Central bay-window caboose that does not have a cupola. Inside, you would not know it was an old caboose, being nicely finished and furnished. You will need to be able to climb stairs to enjoy the experience.
The unit was clean, the bathroom had a good sized shower, but no tub. There also appeared to be a closet, but it was blocked off by a small dresser. Each unit has a small, elevated deck outside where you can sit and enjoy a drink. The staff were very helpful and quick to bring us a cot that we needed. The rates mid-week were very reasonable, but no breakfast is offered.
The motel is located in an industrial area but we were not bothered by any noise as our unit was on the far side, away from the nearby factory. Despite the industrial setting, it is only one short block from the main square in town, with restaurants, bars, etc. an easy walk from the motel.
A good place to stay when in Titusville.

We were touring Pennsylvania on our motorcycle and saw a brochure for this place and decided, hey, what the heck. Let's give it a try! Fun experience. Clean room, quiet location. However, the "cupola" could use some blinds or curtains. Woke up about 3 a.m. thinking it was time to get up because it was so bright, only to find out it was the full moon coming through the windows. Definitely sunny in the morning, too! You should definitely stay here so you can tell your friends you slept in a caboose! Not much to do in the town itself. Drake Oil Well Museum was interesting and just a few miles away.

Took the kids here for a unique experience. These are older cabooses, so no 5 stars, but the the experience and theme are great. The A/C worked great and they are more roomy then they look from the outside.
