This used to be the greatest getaway for my family for summer weekends, now it's overcrowded, and the parking lot is a mess. I miss the good old days (7 years ago...)

Compared to places like Busch Gardens, this is small. But boy is it fun when you go before the crowds! Short lines and fun water rides. Bring lunch with you if you can. It is expensive to buy food there.

Newness & specialness gave way to marketing & overcrowding. Still, I'd possibly try again. You know, nobody checks the ""fun level" of crowding. (Like, 1,000 - okay, that's it, otherwise too crowded.

This place gets way too crowded. The parking lots are all over the place and the maneuvering of your car around people and cars parked in areas they probably shouldn't be do not help. The parking attendants don't do a good job which is evident by the erratic parking areas.

I ended up getting food poisoning from one of the breakfast sandwichs in the morning which pretty much ruined my entire day. The bathrooms are small in the huge family eating area which is ridiculous. How can you only have 2 urinals (1 which was out of order) and 2 toilets for the mens room? When there are long lines out the door in the mens room, you know its not sufficient given the type of area its in.

The triple ticket is annoying...even though buying it gets you 3 lift tickets, as opposed to other mountains you have to still go to the ticket counter and get an actual ticket. This is because they don't actually check with a scanner your lift ticket when you get on the lift. Just an indication of lower technology at this resort.

If you're in PA check out Jim Thorpe or Big Boulder...stay away from Shawnee. Mountain Creek is twice as big and better than this if you're in NJ.

Love this place - a must do if you are in the poconos during the summer months, they have a great kids area and a fun wave pool but the numerous amount of slides are the best.
